Turning to his little sister, who was playing with his hand, he mumbled, 'I am sorry, Helaena,' and pinched his baby sister under her arms.
Helaena's baby face twisted in pain as she let out a loud wail, filling the chamber with her cries.
Alicent and Otto turned to the siblings, with Otto frowning and Alicent jerking her chair up.
She walked towards her daughter's and picked her up in her arms, rocking her back and forth.
WAAAH
Otto's eyes twitched a little; he was about to press his daughter to convince Viserys, but the mood was gone now; he knew it.
'But that won't be a problem.' He mumbled inwardly as a glint passed through his eyes, 'She will do it on her own if she wishes for her son to survive!'
Standing up from his chair, he slowly walked towards his daughter, his gaze fixated on his future king.
"I will take Aegon for a walk. Many moons have passed since I spent time with him."
Alicent's eyes narrowed at her father's suggestion. Well, it can't be called a suggestion since he never asked; he told.
She pressed her lips, thinking about his words; she didn't want to send her son with him, but she had no choice.
Nodding her head, she turned to her son, who was staring at Otto blankly; she said, "Aegon, go with your grandfather; I will feed little Helaena until then, okay?"
Aegon continued to stare at the Hand; there was no expression on his face, no enthusiasm nor reluctance. But inwardly,
'What is the old man up to now?' His mind raced to think of any motivations the lord of the Hightower might have. After all,
'He never does anything without a purpose or an ultimate goal…'
He nodded nonetheless and slowly got out of bed; he glanced at his mother for a moment before he walked toward Otto.
Otto nodded curtly before turning around and began walking towards the door.
Alicent smiled wryly at her father. She saw no love for Aegon in Otto's eyes; 'I am sorry, baby.' She apologised inwardly.
Aegon silently followed behind his grandfather.
They exited the room, and Otto waved his hand, stopping the guards from following them.
The pair walked through the dark halls of the Keep, light dancing around the torches placed high up on the walls.
Aegon tried to keep up with his grandfather, but the old man's big strides were hard to keep up.
But the prince wasn't worried about that: 'These halls lead to Rhaenyra's chambers!'
Aegon's eyes widened as he identified the halls. His heart pounded against his chest while his brows creased together, 'What is this old man up to?'
With each step he took, he felt something was wrong: 'What is he planning?'
His mind raced as he wanted to know just what his grandfather planning?
Otto walked steadily, his pace a little faster than Aegon's. 'Good,' he mumbled to himself as he felt the prince was able to follow him.
'Although he is too silent for my taste, he will have to do…' His eyes flashed as he continued.
'He is only two name days old; he can still be moulded into a king!' he thought inwardly as he glanced back through the corners of his eyes.
He was going to train his grandson! Not like the weak king his father was, but a true king!
'The might of Aegon and the wit of Jaehaerys!'
Otto clenched his fist tightly as he imagined his grandson, sitting on the iron throne, confidence oozing out of his purple eyes while a cunning smirk played on his lips.
'My blood…' he mumbled, 'I will make it happen!'
The pair continued on their path, closing in on Rhaenyra's chambers.
Aegon looked around, his eyes darting everywhere, searching for his half-sister.
'He is definitely scheming, something! Involving me and her!' Aegon exclaimed inwardly.
His heartbeat was almost audible to the young prince, while his little hands were curled into fists.
'Does it have something to do with the marriage?' he murmured, squinting his eyes.
Turning toward his grandfather, 'That is the only explanation I could think of…'
The more he thought about it, the more he felt like it had to do with the marriage proposal.
'Does he intend to broker between me and Rhaenyra?' he questioned, but he immediately shook his head.
'No, that can't be it… Rhaneyra dislikes him, and any effort by him would only distance the already increasing gap between us! Then what…?'
Aegon kept his head down as he followed Otto, fully immersed in his own mind that he didn't notice the quick glance Otto gave to the servant walking opposite to them.
Otto watched as the maid nodded at home, signalling that the stage was ready and the audience was ready.
A thin smile spread on Otto's face as the maid walked past them.
The pair continued on their path, and along the way, Aegon noticed how they frequently came across servants and guards, 'We are nearing her quarters!'
He noticed the servants sharing a glance with Otto but didn't think much of it, chalking it up to his grandfather being the hand.
While walking, Aegon noticed a guard jerking his head to the side as he walked past, then causing him to frown.
He turned towards the side that the guard was pointing towards with narrowed eyes and noticed a young teen walking towards them with a downtrodden face.
Aegon's pupils dilated when he looked at his sister's state. Her hair was messed up, while her eyes lacked their usual shine and were hollow, like a corpse.
GRIT
He gritted his teeth while looking at her state, the face of Rhaenys flashing in his mind while anger flared in his heart.
He turned towards his grandfather, who now halted on his steps.
He watched as Otto glanced towards Rhaenyra, and his thin smile widened.
He turned toward Aegon, who was frowning a little, and said, "Aegon, do you wish to be king!?"
Aegon's heart skipped a beat while his eyes widened in shock, 'What The Fuck!?'
