May 17, 1992
It has been half a month since the movie has been finished and Sam has also visited Charle's house twice for dinner at weekends.
But sadly, he has not been able to meet Claire, as she is busy with her post graduation project.
Outside Big E studios,
Sam has been coming to the Big E studios for half a month now for the work of post-production.
The editor Leo whom, he is working with is a veteran and a stable man without having much to fuss about.
From what he observed, Leo is not like some editors who cares much about editing rights as he is an easy going guy.
Sam, Philips and the Editor Leo were sitting inside the editing room of Big E studios, looking at the computer.
Sam outlined the general frame work and sequences on which the editing should progress.
Sam instructed the editor, "so keep this frontal footage for two second on the single frame and switch it to a wide angle for long range which can also include everybody else in the same frame".
Sam also asked Philips to recommend him a mixing director from the music industry as he needs someone to add punch line music for the film.
Sam likes to add music mixing to every single scene, as it adds more depth to the background and makes the movie interesting and cool to watch.
Sam doesn't like most of the movies from the 90's era because he thinks they are a little bit too blend for his taste.
The movies from 1990s are straight forward with minimal music mixing which mostly used in dialogue and action only.
For example, there are little to none background music and background sound/score specifically given to the characters and scenes like they do generally in 21st century movies.
Sam did not have to waste too much of his energy in editing the scenes because the whole movie was printed in his mind.
So he didn't have to try and adjust clips back and forth, which also impressed Leo, who has worked with many directors but none have this type of clear visualisation.
As Sam was investor, producer and director of the film occupying the three positions, he had full rights to edit the finished movie.
When he gave the storyboard to Philips to watch, he also included the editing parts in each frames which also impressed him very much, so he received almost no restriction when editing.
Sam instructed Leo about the editing effects he needed and while he complied with the editing.
Philips watched silently for while and questioned Sam," When will you have the film be ready, so I can invite our chairman for screening?"
"If he is satisfied, then we can also strive to increase for more screen".
Sam looked at monitor screen and replied," In more than ten, you can see the finished version".
After having a few more words of conversation, Philips left the two of them and went back to his office because he also has to consult with the chairman, to see if he can add more seats.
He has seen the rough cuts and he is satisfied watching them, so he wants to ensure, if he can get more screens.
Without returning to his office, he went to invite the chairman to screening for the new movie ten days later.
And with that his slump in the chair in his office.
Ten days later,
Inside the screening room of Big E studios, which could host 20 people at most, was full.
Sitting at the front were the chairman,Philips, Sam and few people from the studios related to grading were here.
The people who grade the films are very important to any studio as it determines which movie can be successful or a flop or a medium hit, because they are veterans.
Their job is to watch the movie all day long and most of the time there right, grading system includes from E to A and S grade is seldomly used as it means immensely successful.
The movies like Titanic, Avatar and Avengers are some of the S grade films from Sam's previous life.
Lewis was also there sitting at the end to see what kind of movie did Philips invested, he hopes that it will be also a flop, which could make him happy.
Lighting inside room dims as movie is about to start, everyone stops talking and put their attention to the screen.
The whole film is about 1 hours and 45 minutes, it is very compact and there are no boring parts which can make the audience feel asleep.
The chairman was also happy watching the film and he personally like it very much, the grading agents were also writing the summary of the film as well as how much it can earn and how much screen should they allocate, etc.
Philips was happy with red face as heard the compliments from others but he somber up watching Sam.
Sam, although a little bit happy, but didn't seem too much excited, as he has already seen this movie countless times in his previous life.
The only person who seemed unhappy there was, Lewis, who left the auditorium when the film finished as he knew that, this might be a good movie but he was also a bit of sad that why he didn't get to take a chance to invest in movies like this.
