Chapter 11
After some time, he finally said, "Stop it already! It's hurting now."
Gritting his teeth, he said to her. He didn't know how long was she going to keep walking.
Alice paused in her tracks and turned to look back at him, her deep blue eyes stared right into his soft red eyes.
He yanked off her hand and this time she let go of him.
Looking down, he saw a reddish mark on his pale white skin.
'Fuck, how can she be so strong?'
He secretly lamented.
"Don't go to the knights practice from now on." she said.
"Why?" Daniel frowned, he said in a rather raised voice, "Just because I am a man? Sister, I will go there daily. You can't stop me."
Alice looked at him silently, she had never seen him act so rebellious over something like this.
Swords? Was it that big of a deal for him, a little boy?
Shouldn't he be more interested in dressing and playing around?
"If that is all you have then I am going back." Daniel was ready to leave. The little bruise would regenerate in some time.
"Stop." she called to him as he stopped for a moment.
"Don't go to those knights, they can't teach you anything."
She took a deep breath and finally said.
"Come to me, I will teach you about swords."
Daniel froze and turned to look at her with widened eyes, only to see a stoic expression on her face.
He hesitated and asked, "This… do you know about swords?"
He had never seen her hold a weapon before so it was natural that he felt she was fooling him thinking that he didn't know any better.
Alice scoffed as she looked at his doubtful face, she really felt that Daniel was becoming disobedient daily.
She looked around and picked up a wooden branch from nearby.
She pointed the wooden stick to him, his eyes followed her hand.
She threw the branch straight. The branch turned into a blur of light as if flashed by and cut through the air.
Whoosh! Bang!
The weak wooden branch was deeply embedded in the stone wall.
Daniel's mouth opened wide as he stared at the branch and then back at Alice who was looking down at him with a stern expression.
After a moment of silence, he said, "Sister, you are great! I will definitely follow your teachings from now on!"
"Hmph." Alice snorted and left. No matter what, she still felt it was better for Daniel to come to her than go to a bunch of disgusting women, even if it meant exposing her skills a little.
'Damn! She'd hidden herself so well! Is this her true strength!? She's even better than those with runes!'
Daniel was in complete shock of her sister's hidden strength, it looked like she was hiding some very deep secrets.
No matter what, he had gotten what he had wanted in the end.
That's all what matter now.

Daniel's daily lessons continued as normal but after everything, he would meet Alice at a remote place in the mansion where she would teach him how to use a sword properly and what techniques to use.
She was quite surprised to see him adapt so quickly as if he already had years of experience and this shock further intensified when he was easily able to grasp her teachings.
Daniel would feel proud at such moments but he still could not imagine doing something like what Alice did that day.
Throwing a messily branch to pierce a rock. It was so hard, only after training in techniques of sword did he realize.
He also felt that Alice was too mysterious, how had she managed to display such terrifying techniques and master them at such a tender age of only 10 years old?
And her teaching method, it was as if she had countless years of experience with her, the efficiency she had when she taught the sword movements was impeccable to him, someone who already had years of experience of kendo from his past life.
He would have said that she had a powerful hidden sword expert as her teacher with her in secret and had been studying under that expert all this time but…
She was too strong to be called a student, it was as if she was the expert herself!
This led him to suspect that she was an individual who had regressed back in time or have reincarnated like him, she had to be an expert sword lady in her past or something.
He didn't let his suspicions leak out to her, for he felt that she might harm him.
Yes, he didn't consider Alice as his sister anymore but a stranger in Alice's skin.
Perhaps Alice had always been like this and he only realized this now?
Perhaps she had changed somewhere in middle?
There were countless possibilities, one part of him wanted him to treat Alice as his sister, love her like a sibling would, share joy with her but the other part of him would feel cautious and nervous with her, worry about what happened if it was someone who had forcefully possessed Alice's body.
He didn't know but from the fact that she was willing to teach him sword techniques meant that she cared somewhat, which eased his heart too temporarily.
He wanted to find out what exactly was wrong with her?
But that was something he could only do when he was strong enough.
"Dan, tomorrow is your awakening ceremony. Are you prepared to awaken your magic rune?"
Alice suddenly appeared behind him and whispered, making him jolt and turn around to look at her quickly.
She would always randomly appear behind him without him noticing and whisper in his ears.
"Yes, I am prepared, sister."
Alice smiled lightly and nodded, "You are going to awaken the rune of space or maybe rune of time, right?"
She teased with a smile, it had been like this since he had mentioned it on that day.
"Stop teasing me." He said firmly, but she still kept her smile.
"Sister, when will I be able to pierce the rock with a wooden branch like you did?" he asked something he had been wanting to ask.
