Chapter 37 - El Thor

---

"Raikiri"

Enel's eyes narrowed as he noticed faint traces of lightning still flickering on Akira's palm. The realization hit him like a jolt. "Impossible! No two identical Devil Fruits exist in the world. How are you using lightning?!"

After Enel gained the incredible power of thunder and began seeing himself as a god, he grew curious about the source of his strength. Determined to uncover all he could about the fruit he'd eaten, he scoured every scrap of information available, aiming to ensure he would be the only one wielding such power.

Through his research, Enel confirmed that each Devil Fruit was one of a kind; no two people could possess the same ability at the same time. This gave him a sense of security, fueling his arrogance as he considered himself truly unique. His investigations also revealed the Devil Fruit's inherent weakness to seawater, or the equivalent in the White Sea—the Sea Cloud.

These findings reinforced his belief in his "divinity," as he was now certain no one else could rival his abilities, so long as he avoided the treacherous White Sea and the depths of the ocean.

Akira remained calm, his tone even. "It's just lightning. Nothing extraordinary. And don't worry—I didn't eat a Devil Fruit."

The technique Akira had used was Raikiri, an S-rank ninjutsu created by Hatake Kakashi. Kakashi had once used this very move to cut through lightning itself, earning it the name Raikiri, the Lightning Cutter. Akira had learned it directly from Kakashi.

Some techniques, like Raikiri or the Light-Weight Rock Technique, couldn't be copied by Sharingan alone. Akira had studied them meticulously, mastering them through his own efforts.

Seeing Enel rely on lightning, Akira had been tempted to test his Raikiri against it.

Uchiha Shisui, already prepared for combat, stepped forward. "Brother Akira, let me handle him."

"I know," Akira smiled faintly, "but I couldn't resist. I'm just itching for a fight."

Shisui had activated his Mangekyō Sharingan and was more than capable of dealing with Enel. Despite being an awe-inspiring figure in Skypiea, Enel was like a frog at the bottom of a well—isolated, limited in experience. Although in the anime he was defeated by Luffy, a newcomer to the Grand Line, Enel's power with the Thunder Fruit was actually remarkable.

His reliance on his Devil Fruit power, however, left him vulnerable. Lacking true combat skills, physical prowess, or defensive capability, Enel seemed like an invincible god only because of his fruit. Without it, any New World kid would knock him out of the sky.

Akira's goal in coming to Sky Island wasn't just gold. His primary target was Enel. The power of the Thunder Fruit, wasted on Enel, was a pearl lost in the dust. Akira had come to claim it.

Enel, meanwhile, threw his head back and laughed, trying to regain his composure. "Hahahaha! What a slip-up. I actually panicked for a moment. Whatever magic you're using, your lightning can't compare to mine. It's a mere imitation. Do you really think you can challenge the true God?"

Raising his staff, Enel struck one of his shoulder drums using his staff to create a large, wolf-shaped mass of lightning from it.

"30 Million Volts : Kiten—Thunder Beast!!"

Lightning surged from the drum, taking the form of a wolf that raced toward Akira.

Akira stood his ground. As the Thunder Beast lunged, he drew his sword in one swift motion.

ssssssh!

A brilliant arc of lightning sliced through the beast, cutting it cleanly in half.

"Amazing!" one of the women from the Kuja pirates gasped. "He can cut through lightning this easily!"

It was an awe-inspiring sight, slicing through a storm of lightning with such grace. Even Hancock couldn't help but feel her heart skip a beat at Akira's display of power.

Boom!

Enel struck the drum again, this time with more force.

"60 Million Volts: Jamboule~Thunder Dragon!!"

A massive dragon of lightning erupted forth, destroying everything in its path as it barreled toward Akira.

Unfazed, Akira raised his Black Blade, the blade crackling with lightning. He brought it down in a powerful slash.

Slash—!!

The blinding arc of lightning cut through the dragon, continuing its path toward Enel.

Enel's eyes widened, and he barely dodged the attack as it split the Upper Yard nearly in half.

The sheer force of Akira's attack left Enel momentarily stunned. His expression hardened as he stared at the long sword in Akira's hand, still flickering with lightning.

"What is your name?"

"Uchiha Akira," came the calm reply.

"I admit, I underestimated you, Uchiha Akira. But this is where it ends. I'll eliminate you for good."

Enel extended his hand.

"30 Million Volts!"

A powerful bolt of lightning shot out toward Akira, but with a swift swing of his sword, Akira shattered the lightning as though it were glass.

Not letting up, Enel raised his other hand.

"40 Million Volts!"

Akira's sword cleaved through the next bolt with equal ease.

"50 Million Volts!"

Again, Akira cut through the lightning, calm and collected.

"100 Million Volts!!"

A tremendous surge of lightning erupted from Enel's hands, but even that didn't faze Akira. Holding his sword with both hands, he slashed through the 100 million volts of lightning as though it were nothing.

Enel, his eyes wild, raised both his arms high. "Feel the power of God! Accept Heaven's Judgment!!"

A massive column of lightning gathered above Akira's head, casting a terrifying glow over the battlefield.

"El ThorGod's Judgment!!!"

The massive pillar of thunder slammed into the ground, engulfing Akira in an explosion of electricity.

"Careful!" Hancock shouted, her voice filled with panic.

Boom!

The earth trembled as the lightning scorched a deep hole into the ground. Akira's figure was nowhere to be seen.

Enel's manic laughter filled the air. "Hahahaha!!"

"Vice-Captain!!" The Kuja women rushed toward the edge of the crater, gazing down at the earth and clouds below, pierced by the devastating attack.

"This is the fate of those who defy God!" Enel declared triumphantly. "No matter how strong you are, it's futile to oppose divine power! Submit to me, or face the same fate as that man!"

The Kuja warriors looked grim, but Shisui and Itachi remained calm.

Suddenly, a voice echoed from below. "Phew... That was close. I was almost injured."

As the words resounded, Akira slowly floated back up from the massive crater, unscathed.

"What?!!" Enel's confidence wavered as he stared in disbelief.
