"Nia, hey! Are you listening to me?" My friend Alice snapped at me.
"Yeah? Yes, I was." I forced a smile and tried to sound convincing as much as possible.
Alice sighed, "then you hear what I said right? we need to come to that party." she continued.
"I'm not really up for this, I'm too tired and mom will scold me a lot since we have exams coming up." I reasoned.
"Well, you do know your mom always says 'yes' to me right?" she nudged me on my waist "I'll pick you up later around 7pm, do your homework while you wait for me."
"Alright." I simply said to end her trying to convince me while I gather my things together. "You can drop me off here." I said as she slowly brakes.
"I'll see you later ok?" She waved and blew kisses at me. I waved back and did the same thing, as I now make my way inside the house.

"Nia? Is that you?" mom calls out to me assuming that she's by the kitchen.
"Yes mom." I responded and made my way to her, "I'll be going out later, Alice will pick me up." I said while I make my way to get a glass of cold water that I much needed.
"That's nice, it's a Friday! You should let loose you know? I'm glad Alice is your friend." She said, as I stare at her you can really see how she's blooms. My mom, who only focuses on her family and of course taking care of herself.
"I know, but I didn't want to go." I whined while I clean the glass I just used and put away the pitcher I got from the fridge.
"Unfortunately, a plan's a plan." She giggled, mom has always loved and trusted Alice since we were kids. Alice has always been a good kid, good scores, popular, came from a well-off family.
I sighed, "Well, I should do one my homeworks before I get ready. I'll go upstairs now." I said and did what I said.
I breath of relief escaped my mouth, I dropped my bags on the floor and laid directly on my bed.
I didn't really have an assignment, I just wanted to make an excuse to rest. Besides, most of the time in parties like this I have to be socially prepared for everyone. It feels like a burden, than fun.
6:00 PM, it took me another hour of just lying down and resting to start getting ready for this party. "Well I atleast have something to look forward to," I murmured, because in a sense if me and Alice goes to a party now she wouldn't bother me to go to another one for another week.
I stepped into the shower to freshen up while I play my favorite music in the background, after that, I picked an outfit and checked myself out in the mirror a few times.
"This looks nice." I complimented myself and the mini dress I was wearing. Nothing extravagant, a body hugging mini dress that is not too short but still showed some legs, sleeveless, and hint of sparks on the dress.
6:50 PM, just enough time to wait for Alice. I pulled out my phone, took pictures and posted on my personal instagram. While I scroll through videos and photos on my news feed I hear Alice voice from downstairs.
"Let's go Nia!" She sounded so excitedly.
"Ok!" I responded and made my way downstairs.
"You look good darling." mom said, I responded with a simple smile.
"Be careful at that party, especially the boys!" My dad's voice said coming from the living room while him and my younger brother watch their daily sports channel.
"I will." Me and Alice then bid our goodbyes to them and made our way to her car.
"You really didn't have a homework, am I right?" she said as if she caught a kid in a lie. I raised both my hands as if i'm surrending and we both laughed.
"I'm here, let's go to that party." I rolled my eyes and strapped on my seatbelt while she starts the car.

As we're a few turns away from the place I can already see a lot of cars pulling up and teenagers just swarming the place.
"Whose party even is this? The house is big." I said looking around, about this time we're looking for a parking spot as this house not only came with a huge house but a huge open space. Hence, why, the loud music with no problem.
"New kid, this is like his 'welcoming party' he said." Alice says while she scans the place "Oh right there!" She immediately hurried to get the parking spot. At last, we got out parking space.
As we make our way to the house, younger level highschoolers greeted us and we said our greetings to our other acquintances.
"Axel!" Alice calls out, I turned to who she called for and a guy stands and waved at her. He made his way to us while greeting people on his way, he was good-looking, not to muscles but you can tell he's fit and takes care of himself well.
"Hi, you guys just got here?" he said.
"Yes, and here," she scooted me infront of her "She is my bestfriend in the whole wide world, Nia." she said while I flashed a smile.
He smiled back, he seems familiar.
"Hi Nia, you look stunning!" he said.
"Thank you, nice house and great party." I said.
"Thank you, you guys can get some drinks over there and come back here so you girls can sit by us over there."
"Sure, thanks!" Me and Alice said together.
As we said, we went and get our drinks by the bar that his house had. While we wait for our drinks, Alice said "He looks good right?"
"He does, he seems nice as well." I said, "but his face projects familiarity at me."
"Really? Maybe you've seen him by the streets or something." Alice said, she grabbed our drinks and turned to me "Let's go!"
We then made our way to the bodies of people trying to not spill any of our drinks, as we reached the spot Axel told us to stay we said our greetings and it was filled with seniors that me and Alice knew already so I got a little comfortable.
As we chitchat our time away, having fun, playing with our drinks the DJ that was playing changed the song to basically a much more jumpier and exciting beat, and since everyone was getting a little more tipsy everyone wanted to dance.
They made their way to the floor, while I get left behind because I wanted to finish my drink.
"Let's go Nia! Get up!"
My eyes widen, I felt ringing in my ears and the surroundings felt silent. I looked up to meet eye-to-eye with none other than.
Axel.
I stared at him, that hints shock in my eyes. He became worried, "Are you ok?" he said placing his hands on my shoulders.
"I..." I muttered "Axel?" I cautiously asked.
"Yeah?" his face shows growing more concern.
"Are you a Reid..?"
He stops and smiled, "I knew you knew me." and hugged me.
