On the way back home, a notification popped up on my phone screen: "They're paying more now." Intrigued, I couldn't help but smile as I read it, wondering what opportunity awaited.
Suddenly, a playful jab at my shoulder made me jump, and I turned to see clistoria grinning mischievously, appearing beside me like a ghost. Startled, I hoped she hadn't seen the message I was reading.
"Why are you always glued to your smartphone? Is there something interesting about it?" she teased, trying to peek at my screen.
I deftly changed the subject, asking, "Hey, are you free next weekend?" I forced a smile, hoping to hide my nerves.
"Umn, not really," she replied, clearly surprised by my sudden question. "Why do you ask?"
Pushing forward with my plan, I explained, "I was thinking of going shopping for some new clothes, but since you're not free, I guess I'll have to go alone." I pretended to be disappointed.
Clistoria hesitated, then reluctantly said, "Well, it's not like I'm busy the whole day, so maybe I can come along."
"You don't have to force yourself," I assured her, but she insisted, her eyes showing determination.
"Okay then, I'll message you the details. How about we meet at noon?" I suggested.
"Noon?" she questioned, sounding surprised.
"Yeah, We have exams coming up, and I've missed a month of school, so I need to catch up on some topics," I explained.
"If you need any help, you can count on me, okay?" she offered sincerely.
She is trying to be helpful even though she is not good at it, I thought.
Grateful for her support, I nodded in response.
As I finally got home from another tiring day at school, the idea of a comforting meal waiting for me was a welcome thought.
But as I entered the house, I was greeted by a pleasant surprise: the delicious smell of home-cooked dinner filled the air, accompanied by the gentle clatter of utensils .
Curious, I followed the inviting aroma to the kitchen, where Lily, a remarkable woman with an impressive education background, effortlessly worked her magic. Her face lit up with warmth as she saw me, offering a genuine smile that instantly lifted my spirits.
"Hey there," she greeted, her voice filled with kindness. "Have a seat , dinner is ready."
Gratitude washed over me at her thoughtful gesture, easing my tiredness. Taking a seat at the kitchen table, I eagerly anticipated the delicious meal she had prepared—a comforting feast.
As we ate together, the stresses of the day faded away, replaced by a sense of companionship. Lily listened attentively as I shared my school struggles, offering words of encouragement.
"Yeah, exams are coming up," I sighed, feeling the pressure. "It's been tough keeping up with everything."
Lily nodded in understanding. "Well, if you ever need help studying, just let me know," she reassured me with a comforting smile.
Then, she asked about my parents. "Have you heard from them? Are they coming home soon?" she inquired, her concern evident.
I shook my head, feeling a pang of loneliness. "Not yet. They're still busy with work," I admitted, trying to hide my disappointment.
Lily reached out, squeezing my hand gently. "I'm sure they'll be back soon. In the meantime, you've got me here," she said warmly.
In that moment, surrounded by warmth and support, I felt grateful for Lily's presence in my life. Despite life's challenges, having her by my side made all the difference. And knowing that , my father ensured Lily, as she will receive her payment promptly through online transactions.
But sometimes I think,
Is she really nice or is she doing this on purpose.
She is in University. She works here in her free time. My father is a famous and wealthy man.
Linking all these things. I think-
Wait.
