Mateo's POV
After my meeting I was so tired and wanted to just go home and rest.
I thought about Valentina and decided to call.
" Hey babe" she said.
" Hi baby,how are you?" I asked.
" I am good,how was your meeting?" She asked.
It sounded like she was somewhere that wasn't home and I would be so angry if I find out she is still at work.
" My meeting was exhausting. Where are you? Please don't tell me you are still at work." I said
" No babe I am not at work,I am actually with Diego and Angel we went out together to have dinner " she said.
" Oh you guys went out without me right? I will not forgive any of you " I said jokingly.
" Sorry bro you are missing a lot " they both said.
The nerve of these guys to tell me I am missing out on the fun they where having.
" I am going to deal with you guys when i get home " I said.
" Bye babe, take care of yourself and get home soon " she said to me chuckling.
" Alright babe, Love you." I said before hanging up.
I got into my car and we drove straight home.
I got home and couldn't find Valentina or my brothers.
I tried calling them but their numbers weren't going through, I didn't have a good feeling about it.
I got so worried and was about to look for them when Aunt Luna stopped me saying they were fine and would be back home soon.
Few minutes later I got a call from an unknown number asking me to come to the hospital.
I was already panicking because I feared the worst might have happened.
I got to the hospital and ran inside telling the reception nurse that I was called by the hospital.
" Hi , someone called me and said that my family was here" I said.
" Your family? What's their names?" She asked.
" Angel Santiago, Diego Santiago and Valentina Rodrigo" i replied.
She checked the computer system in front of her and said that their is nobody with those names in the hospital and the last patient that was brought in was 2 hours ago.
" That can't be true,I mean someone called me and said they were here." I said.
I felt my phone vibrating and checked the called ID and saw it was Diego.How is this even possible?.
" Get out of that place immediately" he said.
" What's happening Diego are you guys okay?" I asked walking out of the hospital as he had instructed.
" I will explain it to you when you get home" he say
I got to my car and drove straight home to meet them all waiting for me in the living room.
Valentina got up and ran towards me engulfing me in a hug.
" Are you okay? What happened?" I asked.
I held her and we both walked to the couch to sit down.
" We were ambushed or should I say Valentina was ambushed but thank God we were there." Angel said.
I looked at the surprised because I do not understand a word they are saying.
" What the fuck do you mean by Valentina was ambushed?" I asked.
" After our having dinner at the restaurant, we were all moving to the car when we heard gunshots but thank God the shooter missed " Valentina explained.
I don't understand,who would want to harm Valentina?
" Who do you think would do this?" I asked.
" That's the thing we have no idea, for all we know she doesn't have an enemy " Diego said.
"Do you think maybe it's one of our enemies?" Angel asked.
I was also thinking the same thing,what if it's someone who wants to harm us and felt Valentina was the best target.
" No that felt too personal. We were both there and they weren't aiming at us" Diego said.
That could be true but who would see Valentina as an enemy.
" I think I know who did this" Valentina said.
We all looked at her and was waiting to hear what she thought and I saw her and Diego locking eyes before his eyes widened in realization.
" That can't fucking be!" Diego exclaimed.
" Can you guys let us in on what you are both thinking? Angel said.
My thoughts exactly.
" I found out at the office today that the people with high positions in the company are stealing funds from the company. Though we are still looking for hard proof but i guess they feel threatened " she said.
I and Angel both stared at them in shock.
" You mean they have all been stealing from us and now that Valentina is finding things out they want to silent her?" Angel asked.
" First they steal from us and now they want to hurt my girlfriend?" I said angry.
" Those bastards are going to pay for this" Diego said.
" I want all of them monitored and trailed at all times and i want prove so I can deal with them myself" I said.
" I know they have a hand in this but I think they didn't work alone,why did they call you to that hospital if they don't want to also hurt you" Valentina said.
That is probably true because if they really wanted to hurt just Valentina why then did they call me to come to that hospital.
" You are right val, but first we need to start with those guys at the office" Angel said.
Valentina phone rang and it her personal assistant calling. She answered the call and said
" Hey Jennie what's up?" Valentina asked.
I didn't know what the personal assistant said but Valentina's face became darker and angrier every minute.
" Fuck those bastards " she said angrily.
" What did she say babe?" I asked.
" She called to check up on me because when she got home she saw that her place has been raided". Val said.
We all looked at each other in shock and we just realized that this issues is more serious than we think.
" Where is she currently?" I asked.
" She went to an hotel in a crowded place so they won't try hurting her" val replied.
That's very smart of her.
" Lets all to bed we will discuss more on this tomorrow,its been a long day" Diego said.
We all agreed with him and went to various rooms get some sleep.
