After three years had passed, the people built a new town and forgot what had happened. They never spoke of that day again but remained afraid to go near the lighthouse. At night, many people heard strange noises coming from the lighthouse, and some claimed to see a strange figure guarding it. Over time, several people disappeared near the lighthouse, never to be seen or heard from again. Yet, despite these warnings, the townspeople chose to ignore the signs and continued their daily lives as if the lighthouse didn't exist.
As more time passed, more people vanished due to the mysterious happenings around the lighthouse. Another year went by, and still, no one cared about the town's deteriorating condition. Finally, an election was held, and a new mayor was chosen to lead. He built small schools for the children, including his own.
One day, a family of two moved to the town. The child in the family had no parents, and his kind uncle took care of him. The child quickly befriended another boy his age on the bus. When they arrived in town, they noticed many posters of missing people and saw families mourning the loss of their loved ones. This made the family uneasy, so they asked the townspeople what had happened. But no one answered, and instead, they said, "You should go back to where you came from!"
The head of the family, Nate, was taken aback by this reaction but continued walking. Soon, they reached their new house near the lighthouse, which had been sealed long ago. Unaware of its dark history, the family settled in. A strange man in black clothing suddenly appeared and said, "So, you're the new owners of this house, huh?" He laughed loudly and warned them, "Soon, you too will be taken by the spirit of the lighthouse!"
The children, frightened, asked Nate if they would really be taken. Nate calmly reassured them, saying, "No, don't worry about such things."
As the family entered the house, unaware of what lay ahead, Nate asked, "So, guys, how do you like the new house?" They all replied softly, "It's okay," still shaken by the man in black's ominous warning at the door. Despite their unease, they began setting up the house, cleaning away the dust and leaves that had gathered everywhere. After a few hours of cleaning, they retired to their rooms to sleep for the night. Little did they know, their troubles were just around the corner, waiting for them.
The next morning, strange things began to happen. They discovered one of the windows had been broken, and in another room, items were scattered across the floor, though nothing was missing. There was no sign of forced entry either. This raised the question: who could have done it, and why?
Nate called the children to follow him, and they all left the house. But, like before, there was no one around—no sign of anyone anywhere. They walked for hours but found nothing, so they decided to give up the search and return before it got too late. They planned to try again the next day.
As they were heading back, an old woman passed by them, stopped, and said, "If you want answers, come with me. And don't ask questions or look back." The family, frightened but curious, followed her to an old house. Once inside, the woman asked them to sit at the table and offered them food. After they ate, the old woman revealed that their house was haunted and explained how they could get rid of the spirits. However, she warned that using a special item to do so could come at the cost of their own lives!
Nate told the old woman that he and the family would think about it and let her know, as they didn't want to risk their lives over a house they had just moved into. The old woman replied, "That's fine, I understand if you want to think it over before making a decision about the special item I'm offering you." She then added, "But it's very late, so I suggest you rest at my house for now, and we can talk more in the morning."
Nate agreed and informed the others that they would be spending the night at the old woman's house.
"If anyone has questions, ask now," he said. The family members all answered with a "no,"
and they asked the old woman where they would be sleeping. With a big smile on her face, the old woman told them to follow her upstairs and to take one room each. "I'll see you all in the morning," she said.
