"He's fine, just a bit exhausted," the ship's doctor said after checking on Yeyin. "His stamina was overextended, but after some rest, he'll recover."
The next day, Yeyin woke up in his cabin.
"Tsk, tsk... This feeling of total exhaustion is really unpleasant," Yeyin muttered, feeling the soreness and fatigue throughout his body. Despite having trained at Marineford, he'd never felt this completely drained before.
"If it were Kuzan, he probably would've wiped out that Sea King with just one Ice Age." Yeyin sighed. It was clear that his overall strength still had room for improvement.
"System, use the Source of Life!"
Yeyin decided to use the Source of Life, as he'd collected a few by now. He was curious about what kind of effect it would have.
[Ding! Used 1 Source of Life.]
As the system's notification sounded, Yeyin felt the power within his body slowly recovering. In no time, the soreness and fatigue completely vanished.
However, there seemed to be no other effect. He checked his base attributes, and there was no change. Nothing else seemed to be different either.
Could it be that the Source of Life was just a super-effective healing item?
It didn't seem right—something that could only be extracted from Sea Kings, creatures with immense vitality, shouldn't be this simple, should it?
After waiting for a while and seeing no further changes, Yeyin was left feeling somewhat disappointed.
"Oh well, let's go see what's happening outside."
"You're awake?" Hina walked in, carrying a breakfast tray. "Hina brought you some breakfast."
"Thanks, Hina... But I don't feel hungry at all," Yeyin said, noticing that he didn't have any sensation of hunger.
"How could that be? You fainted yesterday afternoon, and it's now the next day. You should eat something, or your body won't recover properly. Hina will worry!" she said, her voice full of concern.
'Could this be an effect of the Source of Life too?'Yeyin thought to himself, attributing his lack of hunger to the Source.
"Alright, Hina, I understand," Yeyin replied, then stepped out onto the deck.
"Hina, how much longer until we reach the West Sea?"
Yeyin began to miss the days at Marineford, where he could collect plenty of items every day. Out on the open sea, besides cleaning the ship, there was hardly anything else to collect. After so many days, sometimes there wasn't even enough trash left to gather any collection points.
His longing for land had only grown stronger.
"We should arrive at the first island in the West Sea, Pildax Island, in three days," Hina replied calmly.
"Got it. Hina, make sure to plan our route so we stop at every inhabited island we pass by," Yeyin said thoughtfully.
Afterward, he drew his sword and began to practice. Seeing this, Hina didn't push him any further. After all, even when this man was stubborn, he was irresistibly charming.
After Hina left, Yeyin continued swinging his sword, Muramasa.
But what Yeyin didn't realize was that, as he began his training, his body was undergoing tremendous changes. If he had checked his system panel, he would have noticed that his base attributes were significantly increasing.
