Chapter 9 - Chapter nine: Reminiscing the past

The rain pattered against the window of the small, secluded café, creating a rhythmic backdrop to the hushed conversations around her. The woman sat in a dim corner, her presence calm yet unsettling, with a dangerous smile curling at the corners of her lips. She cradled a steaming cup of coffee, the rich aroma mingling with the scent of wet pavement outside.

Her phone vibrated on the table, and she picked it up, glancing at the caller ID. "Hello?" she answered, her tone smooth, almost playful.

"Diane, it's me," came the voice, slightly breathless with urgency. "I just found out that Clavier hired a new PA."

Diane leaned forward, intrigued, her smile growing wider. "Oh? Do tell. What's her name?"

"Isabella- Isabella Carpenter. A fresh graduate from U.S, Texas. She was selected by her school due to her achievements and activities, she was personally interviewed by the CEO himself" the intel revealed.

Diane's eyes sparkled with amusement as she took a slow sip of her coffee. " Now isn't that interesting? Buh she is just like others who wouldn't last a month ... Perhaps she'll just be the next toy on his bed" Diane laughed sinisterly while touching the rim of her coffee cup.

There was a moment of hesitation on the line. "You think she could pose a threat?"

Diane's laughter was soft yet chilling, echoing through the quiet café. "Only if she gets too close. But I do enjoy a good game."

As she ended the call, the rain continued to fall, and her smile lingered, a blend of amusement and intrigue as she watched people go about their business.

Back in the room….

Clavier lay back on the scattered bed, the soft sheets caressing his skin as he let out a low sigh. "Isabella," he murmured to himself, a teasing smile forming on his lips.

"What is it about you that makes you irresistible?" He closed his eyes, letting his imagination take over, conjuring up images of her lying on the same bed with her rolled to the back of her head as he touched her down in a come hither motion, his eyes sparkled with mischief.

"fuvk… now all i want is to hear her moans, squirming as her mark her all over?" he whispered, his voice barely audible, filled with a mix of longing and desire. He pictured her leaning over him, her hair cascading like silk, her breath warm against his skin. "I can almost feel your touch," he continued, his heart racing as he imagined her fingers trailing lightly down his chest. "Just a little closer, Isabella. I can't help but wonder how soft your lips would feel against mine."

Clavier shifted on the bed, the anticipation building within him. "You've got me thinking all sorts of naughty thoughts," he chuckled softly, a hint of playful mischief in his tone. "Maybe I should stop daydreaming and make this a reality." The thought alone sent a thrill through him, and he couldn't help but smile at the possibilities that lay ahead.

Isabella pov*

Isabella sat on her bed in her apartment, her surroundings feeling a bit lonely. Just then, her phone buzzed, and she saw her mom's name lighting up the screen. A smile broke across her face as she quickly answered the call.

"Hey, Mom!" Isabella said, her voice brightening instantly.

"Oh, Isabella! I've missed you so much!" her mom exclaimed, the warmth in her voice wrapping around Isabella like a comforting hug. "How are you settling in?"

"I'm doing well, just trying to get used to everything here. It's a bit overwhelming, but I'm managing," Isabella replied, glancing around the room. "How's everyone back home?"

"They're all good, but it's just not the same without you. Your siblings  keeps asking when you're coming to visit," her mom said, a hint of sadness creeping into her tone.

"I know, I miss you all too. I finally see this as chance to find myself and forget my past," Isabella reassured her, feeling a pang of longing. "It's just a big adjustment for me right now."

"Hi, Mom. If.. it's okay," Isabella replied, her voice wavering slightly. She hesitated, feeling the knot in her stomach tighten. "Um, there's something I've been meaning to ask you."

"Of course! You can tell me anything," her mom encouraged, sensing the shift in Isabella's tone.

"Do you... do you remember Cherry? My childhood friend?" Isabella started, her voice barely above a whisper. "And, um, Justin, my ex-boyfriend?"

Her mom's tone shifted, concern creeping in. "Yes, I remember them. What about them?"

Isabella took a deep breath, steeling herself. "I just wanted to know if…. They are still together you know." her voice turning to barely a whispers.

"Oh, honey," her mom said softly, her heart aching for her daughter. "I'm so sorry you had to go through that. It's completely understandable to feel hurt and confused."

After heaving a long breathe" well as far as i know they are pretty much still glued together, it's all over their socials… you don't see it?" her mom replied feeling for her daughter.

"I just feel so betrayed and no i blocked everything relating to them," Isabella admitted, her voice trembling. "It still hurts alot mom.. it hurts- it hurts cause.. i still love them mom." isa broke down that dam built up and cried uncontrollably.

"Baby" her mom didn't know how to comfort her over the phone.

" let it all out mama.. let it out"warmth and love radiating through the phone.

After some moments of opening up..

"Just remember to be who or what you wanna be and if no one likes it then it's not your business cause that's how to be yourself, i love you my angel" her mom became emotional too.

"Thanks, Mom. I really needed to hear that," Isabella said, feeling a little lighter. "I just wish things had turned out differently."

"Me too, sweetheart. But remember, you're strong, and this doesn't define you. You'll get through it," her mom said, her voice filled with unwavering support.

"Yeah, I hope so," Isabella replied, a small smile creeping onto her face as she felt the comfort of her mom's words. "Thanks for always being there for me." She wiped her eyes getting tissues to clean her nose

"Just remember, it's okay to feel a little lost. You're starting a new adventure, and I'm so proud of you," her mom said, her voice filled with encouragement. "And don't forget to call me whenever you need to talk."

"Thanks, Mom. That means a lot," Isabella said, her heart swelling with gratitude. "I'll definitely keep in touch more often. I love you."

"I love you too, sweetheart. Take care of yourself, okay?" her mom replied, her voice softening.

"I will, promise," Isabella said, feeling a sense of comfort wash over her as they continued their conversation, the distance between them feeling just a little smaller.

After the call with her mom, Isabella laid crouched on her bed as she recalled their cherished and happy memories from high school which made her smile without knowing.

" It's in the past Isa, you reallyneed to move on just like they did" isa told herself as  she sat up to gain control over her emotions.

" Alright let's get things ready for tomorrow.. oh i still haven't planned our meetings for tomorrow… shit" isa groaned as she won't be sleeping anytime soon.
