[New class skill: Elemental Spirit Summon]
Eager to explore his new class powers, Lucas opened his character panel:
Class: Elemental Summoner
Level: 15
Passive Skills: The Elemental Heart (boosts element affinity, lowers mana cost for the four primary elements, and speeds up their regeneration)
Elemental Sync (enhances coordination with summoned spirits, making skill activation faster)
Skills:
- Fire Pillar (summons a massive fire column that damages enemies within a target area for 5 seconds)
- Elemental Barrier (a defensive shield of four elements that lasts for 30 seconds)
- Rapid Arrow (summons a quick arrow with a 15% chance of critical damage)
- Elemental Spirit Summon (can summon four elemental spirits, which can be re-summoned after they're defeated)
Lucas was particularly curious about Elemental Spirit Summon. This skill wasn't just standard for a summoner; it could be his best battle asset.
"Alright, let's see how it works," Lucas said, using the skill. A third of his mana drained, and a tiny spirit, glowing with intense fire, appeared before him.
The fire spirit floated midair, its form like a vibrant, pulsing flame. It had a pair of ember "eyes" that sparkled with both curiosity and fierce energy. A long tail of flame trailed behind it, scattering sparks as it moved.
"Not bad at all," Lucas said, pleased. "Now, let's test its combat skills." He decided to try it out against the wyvern from before.
Standing on a high ledge, Lucas looked out over the clouds. Soon, a wyvern noticed him and let out a screech, diving straight for him with razor-sharp claws.
"Well, aren't you eager!" Lucas smirked, quickly activating Elemental Barrier. A multicolored shield formed around him, offering strong protection.
The fire spirit, now in battle mode, blazed even brighter. Thanks to Elemental Sync, it seamlessly unleashed a powerful Flame Burst. With a low rumble, the spirit unleashed a wave of flames at the incoming wyvern.
The wyvern's dive came to a halt as flames exploded across its chest. Scales burned and blackened, while feathers turned to ash. Staggered by the impact, it flapped its wings to regain control, hesitating to get close again.
Lucas nodded, satisfied. "Nice power! A few more hits like that, and this wyvern won't last."
But just then, the wyvern threw back its head and let out a long, piercing call that echoed across the skies. Soon, more wyvern screeches answered, and from nearby islands, more wyverns took flight, wings spread wide, diving toward Lucas's position.
"Seriously? Calling for backup?" Lucas shouted, watching the growing horde. "This isn't fair!"
The sky was soon crowded with wyverns, talons flashing, ready to shred through his barrier.
"Guess it's time to try out the fire spirit's big move." Lucas's eyes glinted as he gave the Elemental Detonation command. Instantly, the fire spirit began to swell, its flames deepening from orange to red, heating the air around it.
The fire spirit's eyes blazed with the intensity of the sun, and it charged into the flock of wyverns, ready to explode.
"BOOM!"
The fire spirit detonated in a massive blaze, sending a fiery shockwave across the sky. Wyverns caught close to the blast center were turned to ash, while those further out were scorched, their wings charred and movement sluggish.
"That was amazing!" Lucas thought, grinning as he saw the wyverns scatter, their formation in disarray. For a new summoner, he'd pulled off a powerful attack.
However, a few wyverns that had survived were circling again, still fierce and unwilling to back down.
"Guess it's not the time for an all-out fight," Lucas muttered. "I'll be back with even stronger skills." With a final smirk at the remaining wyverns, he exited the instance.
