Chapter 18 - Massive Demon

The massive weasel demon lazily lowered its head, gazing down at Edward standing before it.

It used its long, sharp claws to idly scratch at its filthy skin.

"Didn't expect you to come alone."

Its deep, raspy voice echoed through the air, each word striking like a crack of thunder.

"You killed two sons and a grandson."

As it finished speaking, a murderous glint flashed in its cruel eyes.

"Though I didn't care much for them, losing three at once is still a bit unsettling."

It twisted its neck, producing a series of loud cracks.

The giant weasel demon's gaze sharpened, and the air around them grew heavier with its every word.

"Give me an explanation."

The other elite weasel demons beside it let out low growls, their lips curling back to reveal sharp, gleaming fangs.

Their bloodthirsty eyes locked onto Edward, filled with savage intent.

The villagers held their breath, too frightened to make a sound.

Edward slowly raised his head, a slight smile playing at the corner of his lips.

Faced with the enormous demon, he showed no fear.

Rather than answering the weasel demon's question, he gripped his sword tightly, offering a silent response through his actions.

Suddenly, he stepped forward with a powerful stomp, sending dust flying from the ground.

In an instant, he shot forward like an arrow from a bow, his hands surging with energy as he sped toward the nearest weasel demon, his body moving with the speed of lightning.

The demon's bloodshot eyes only had time to widen slightly, its pupils contracting rapidly.

Thud!

The blade pierced through the demon's heart, leaving it no chance to react.

The entire process was as swift as a lightning strike, and Edward's face remained expressionless.

Only when the demon let out its first agonizing scream, with blood spraying from the wound, was the village's silence shattered.

The other weasel demons, as if awakened from a dream, instantly realized what had happened.

They moved swiftly, their limbs hitting the ground with ferocious intent, baring their fangs as they lunged toward Edward.

At the same time, the massive weasel demon looked down, its eyes filled with disbelief and rage.

Its bloated, sluggish body trembled slightly, shocked by Edward's ruthless strike.

Its gaze locked with Edward's cold, piercing eyes.

"Lowly human, you're courting death!"

The giant weasel demon roared, its fury surging like a tidal wave.

Its enormous body shot into the air, its bulk looming overhead like a dark cloud.

Simultaneously, the other weasel demons crouched, their limbs splayed as they closed in.

Their fangs bared, saliva dripped from their mouths, driven by bloodlust.

They growled, surrounding Edward, blocking off every path of escape.

But just as the massive demon's attack was about to land, Edward moved again.

His steps were light and agile, seemingly unbound by any restriction.

The seemingly impenetrable encirclement became meaningless in his presence.

He moved through them effortlessly, evading each claw and every fang.

The giant demon's enormous body slammed down, missing its target and crashing into the ground with a thunderous impact, kicking up dust and debris.

As the hulking form hit the ground, Edward seized the moment.

With a swift, clean motion, he reversed his sword and decapitated another weasel demon.

Blood spurted from its neck as its body collapsed limply to the ground.

Their movements, driven purely by instinct, were full of flaws.

Compared to the goat demon Edward had faced previously, their combat skills were crude and chaotic.

In just a short span, he had already claimed two lives.

Seeing this, the giant weasel demon's previously lazy demeanor vanished entirely, replaced by sheer, blinding rage.

"Move aside!"

Its roar was deafening, and despite its massive size, it moved with surprising agility.

A crimson aura of murderous intent seeped from its skin, filling the air with an overwhelming sense of danger.

At the demon's furious command, the surrounding weasel demons hastily retreated, clearing a wide path for their leader.

A cold smile played on Edward's lips.

With no other demons interfering, he now had more space to showcase his skills.

Like a ghost, Edward weaved through the demons' ranks.

Each strike of his sword was precise, each movement lethally efficient.

In just a few breaths' time, three more weasel demons fell to his blade.

"You've provided me with quite a bit of entertainment."

Edward's voice was quiet, almost a murmur.

Two weasel demons blocking his way barely had time to react before they felt sharp pain in their stomachs.

A steel sword had pierced through both their backs, pinning them together like skewered fruit.

Their eyes widened in disbelief as their life forces quickly drained away.

The giant weasel demon watched in shock, its mind reeling from the swift reversal of the situation.

Never had it anticipated things turning out this way.

"I'm going to kill all your sons and grandsons."

Edward slowly raised his head, his sword in hand, his gaze icy and merciless.

His bloodstained face was grim, a cruel smile curling at the corners of his mouth.

The massive weasel demon stood frozen, a mix of rage and terror flooding its mind, but it was powerless to change the outcome.

A few of the villagers dared to lift their heads, their eyes filled with terror.

The sight before them sent chills down their spines.

At Edward's feet lay the dismembered remains of demons, with limbs, flesh, and heads scattered across the ground.

Several demon heads had rolled down the embankment, their faces twisted in a grotesque death snarl.

The entire village reeked of blood and decay, the demons' viscous blood seeping into the dry soil, staining it a deep red.

The stench of death clung to the air, refusing to dissipate.

Demons lay dead everywhere.

All that remained was the giant, corpulent weasel demon.

Each breath it took made its layers of fat ripple grotesquely.

Edward's sword tilted slightly, pointing toward the massive demon.

"My handiwork—do you like it?"

Everything before him was an exact mirror of the countless atrocities the demons had inflicted upon humans.

The weasel demons, who had once torn humans apart and toyed with their lives, now found themselves on the receiving end of this brutal fate.

The massive demon let out a low, eerie laugh, an oddly relaxed tone lacing its voice.

"If I add your head to the pile, then it'll be perfect!"

As the words left its mouth, its enormous body began to tremble.

Waves of fat undulated like water, and a blood-red aura of malevolence began seeping from its pores.

The aura spread rapidly, enveloping the entire battlefield.

As the blood aura touched the corpses and blood, they began to corrode, emitting a harsh, sizzling sound.

The remains of the weasel demons quickly dissolved into thick, pungent sludge under the influence of the crimson aura, releasing a foul stench.

Even in the face of this horrific sight, Edward remained unfazed.

He steadied his breath, a white mist swirling around him as he clashed head-on with the demonic aura.

Edward stepped forward once more, his sword gleaming as he swung it fiercely toward the giant demon's shoulder.

Shhhrip!

With one slash, a massive gash tore open from the demon's shoulder down to its abdomen.

Its skin and flesh split like paper, causing the demon's body to tremble violently.

A denser, more intense wave of blood-red aura surged from the gash.

The demon lowered its head, its bones locking onto the sword.

Its eyes were bloodshot, consumed by fury.

Like a moving mountain, it lunged at Edward, trying to crush him with its massive bulk.

Edward swiftly let go of the sword's hilt and nimbly stepped back.

Without hesitation, he raised his hand and delivered a powerful palm strike!

Boom!

The massive demon's bloated body shook violently, its fat rippling like waves.

The blood-red aura churned, and the demon's furious roar abruptly ceased as its body froze in place, immobilized.
