She shared her dream with Elysia and Clara and the three of them went to the great hall in the sanctuary. There was a sense of purpose in them, solemn. They wanted to move out again, this time to cleanse Ariston's soul so that he could finally find peace.
Their first quest was to find a location where Lily's light would be powerful enough to break the curse. Elysia proposed that they go to the Temple of Radiance, this old site said to amplify spiritual energy and purify even the most corrupted soul. The temple sat atop the Mistveil Mountains-a long trek that would test their endurance and willpower.
As they prepared for the trip, Clara approached Lily with a small object wrapped in a piece of worn cloth. "I thought you might need this," she said, pressing the bundle into Lily's hands.
She unwrapped it, discovering her grandmother's amulet, stone still glowing faintly, warm. It was an heirloom she had nearly lost in the battle with the Harbinger. And now the weight of it felt comforting to keep her connected.
"Thank you," Lily said, her voice deep with heartfelt gratitude. "This will remind me where I came from."
Both set out before dawn, Lily in the lead, with the amulet round her neck like a token of hope, over a long and unsafe road that led to the Mistveil Mountains-the jagged cliffs, the very steep and narrow paths winding along the mountainside. But none of this ever fazed Lily. She never altered course, not even when the biting winds and the freezing temperature set in.
She was climbing and could feel energy building up inside, as if the light within her was growing stronger with each step, preparing her for what was to be.
