But peace came soon enough over the sanctuary, and whispers of a new threat gained ears in the town. Dark and inexplicable things began to plague the residents of Graywood: disappearances, strange noises during the night, and frightening visions. The darkness that Lily thought she'd finally overcome was stirring once more.
One evening, Lily Wren sat in her study, reviewing her grandmother's journal. The door suddenly knocked. Stepping out of the shadow stood a man with a very sickly pale face and big eyes full of fear.
"Lily Wren?" he asked, voice a little shaky. "I need your help. There is something happening in the woods, and I am pretty sure it has everything to do with the darkness you faced before.".
Lily's heart thumped in her chest. "What are you talking about?"
"There are rumors of a cult," he said, his head turning sideways to peer back over his shoulder, as if expecting to see something lurking in his wake. "They are summoning dark forces, reaching into the shadows. People disappear, and I suspect they might come after you too.".
Lily felt an icy run down her back. Shadows were not over with her; they just evolved and wanted to take control again by using other powers. "We have to gather a group," she said, determination filling the veins of her body. "We are going to deal with this threat together.
