Chapter 16 - The origen of Dragons and Asura

The red cocoon, infused with the knowledge and power of the Grotesques, drifted silently through the vast expanse of the cosmos. Eons passed as it moved, undisturbed by the chaos and creation occurring around it. Stars were born and died, civilizations rose and fell, yet the cocoon floated onward, untouched by time. Eventually, drawn by an unseen force, the cocoon made its way toward a small, blue planet—the Earth.

As it neared the planet's surface, the cocoon descended into a pristine, untouched valley. The Earth was still in its infancy, covered in vast forests, wide oceans, and mountains that scraped the heavens. But it was this particular valley, surrounded by towering peaks, that would become the cradle of something extraordinary.

The cocoon came to rest in the heart of the valley, nestled beneath the earth in a hidden cave. Over countless millennia, the land began to change around it. The energy emanating from the cocoon seeped into the ground, causing the land to shift and rise. Mountains formed slowly, their colossal peaks stretching ever higher. These mountains, born from the cocoon's ancient power, became known to humans as the Himalayas—sacred and eternal.

The cocoon remained buried deep in the heart of the Himalayas, guarded by the raw, elemental force of the mountains themselves. For ages, it lay undisturbed. The world above evolved—continents shifted, life blossomed, and humanity took its first steps into the light. But below, hidden in the cave at the center of the mountains, something else was happening. The cocoon was stirring.

Deep within its protective shell, the power of the Grotesques began to awaken. Slowly, over countless years, it gave birth to two beings—creatures unlike anything the world had ever seen. These beings emerged from the cocoon with no knowledge of their origins but an intrinsic understanding of their purpose. They were the guardians of the cocoon, destined to protect the ancient power within, even as the world above them changed.

The first being, towering and powerful, was the progenitor of the Asura—a race of fierce, warrior-like beings with an unmatched connection to the earth's elemental forces. His skin was as hard as stone, his eyes glowing with the fire of ancient power. He was born with the strength of the mountains and the unyielding force of nature itself. His purpose was clear: to protect the cocoon, no matter the cost.

The second being was the progenitor of the True Dragons. Sleek and serpentine, she emerged from the cocoon with scales that shimmered like molten gold. Her wings, vast and powerful, could summon the winds themselves. Her eyes held the wisdom of the ages, and her voice could shake the heavens. She, too, had one goal: to ensure that nothing ever disturbed the cocoon.

Together, these two beings—Asura and Dragon—became the first guardians of the ancient relic. Over time, their descendants came into existence, each imbued with a fraction of the raw power their progenitors held. The Asura, mighty warriors, formed their own clans, becoming legends in their own right. Meanwhile, the True Dragons took to the skies, ruling the winds and commanding the forces of nature.

As centuries passed, the descendants of these progenitors spread across the world, their influence felt far and wide. Yet, despite their growing numbers, their primary purpose never wavered. They remained the protectors of the cocoon, watching over it as it lay dormant deep within the Himalayas.

The Asura and the True Dragons became the highest force of nature, respected by all living beings connected to the natural world. Their power was vast, for they had absorbed a staggering amount of the natural and magical energy that once permeated the solar system. In the early days of Earth's formation, the planet was rich with natural and magical energy, a gift from the universe itself. But as the progenitors and their descendants grew stronger, they drew this energy into themselves.

Over countless eras, the Asura and Dragons consumed more than 60% of the natural and magical energy available in the solar system. This allowed them to grow in strength, becoming beings of almost godlike power. But there was a cost. As they absorbed this energy, the Earth itself began to change. The abundance of magical energy that once filled the planet slowly began to dwindle, leaving humanity and other creatures with only fragments of the immense power that once existed.

Yet, despite this depletion, the Asura and Dragons were loved by nature itself. The Earth, recognizing them as part of its ancient legacy, revered them as its greatest protectors. The trees, rivers, mountains, and skies all sang in harmony with their presence. The creatures of the Earth, too, felt a deep connection to these beings, for they embodied the very essence of nature. They were seen as the keepers of life, the guardians of balance.

To humans, the Asura and Dragons were myths—legends whispered about in ancient texts. But to the Earth, they were real. These beings were its most loyal protectors, and nature would always protect its guardians in return. Even as the magical energy in the world diminished, the bond between the Asura, the Dragons, and the Earth remained unbroken.

The humans who lived in the shadow of the Himalayas would occasionally catch glimpses of these legendary creatures. A great dragon soaring above the clouds, its golden scales shimmering in the sunlight. A warrior of unimaginable strength, his body one with the mountain, moving like an unstoppable force through the wilderness. These sightings fueled the myths and legends that spread across civilizations, stories of gods and monsters that guarded the sacred mountains.

What the humans did not know was the true purpose of these beings. While the world above evolved, and empires rose and fell, the Asura and the Dragons never forgot their original task: to protect the cocoon. The cocoon, still nestled in its hidden cave deep within the mountains, held within it a power that could reshape reality. It was not yet time for that power to awaken, and until that moment came, the guardians would continue their eternal vigil.

As more time passed, the Himalayas themselves seemed to shift in response to the power of the cocoon. The mountains grew taller, their peaks sharper and more imposing. The energy of the cocoon pulsed through the very rock, shaping the land and protecting the cocoon from those who might seek to harm it. The cave where the cocoon rested became a place of deep magic, a sanctuary hidden from the world.

The guardians were not the only ones aware of the cocoon's presence. Across the realms, powerful beings could sense the vast energy emanating from the Himalayas. Some sought to harness its power for their own gain, while others wished to destroy it, fearing the unknown. But none could reach it. The combined strength of the Asura, the True Dragons, and the natural defenses of the mountains made the cocoon all but impenetrable.

And so, the cocoon remained in its slumber, waiting. Its guardians, the descendants of the Asura and True Dragons, stood watch over it, ever vigilant. They continued to absorb the natural energy of the Earth, ensuring that they remained strong enough to protect the ancient relic. This gradual absorption of energy was the reason why the Earth's magical resources were scarce compared to other worlds. Yet, in their absorption, the guardians formed an unbreakable bond with the natural world, gaining the reverence of nature itself.

As the centuries turned into millennia, the humans of Earth continued to evolve, unaware of the powerful beings that watched over them. They built civilizations, discovered technology, and reached for the stars. Yet the magic that had once been abundant on the planet was now a mere whisper, a fading echo of what it once was.

Some humans, the most attuned to the natural world, could still feel the presence of magic. These individuals were the shamans, the druids, the mystics. They knew that the Earth held secrets, ancient powers that lay dormant beneath the surface. And though they could not reach the cocoon, they revered the mountains where it rested. The Himalayas became a sacred place, a land of mystery and wonder.

The Asura and Dragons, meanwhile, continued to live in harmony with nature. Their descendants spread across the world, but their strongest members remained close to the cocoon, ever mindful of their duty. They were not only feared but also respected as the highest force of nature—beings who had transcended mortal limitations to become something far greater.

And so, the story of the cocoon, the progenitors, and their descendants became intertwined with the history of the Earth itself. The cocoon, lying in wait beneath the towering Himalayas, continued to pulse with ancient power. The guardians, bound to their eternal task, stood as the last line of defense, protecting the Earth from the forces that sought to disrupt the balance.

Yet, even as they protected the cocoon, they knew that the day would come when it would no longer need them. One day, the cocoon would awaken, and the power within it would be unleashed upon the world. What would happen then, none could say. But until that day came, the Asura and Dragons would continue their watch, ensuring that the world remained safe from the chaos that lay beneath the mountains.

For in the heart of the Himalayas, the cocoon was waiting.
