Chapter 40 - Let's take a walk

So... tell me, what did you come here for?" Azazel suddenly asked.

"If I said that I just wanted to visit an old acquaintance, would you believe me?" Ken said.

"Nonsense." Azazel retorted.

"If you don't believe me, then let it be that way." Ken replied with a shrug.

Looking at Azazel's gaze that continued to stick to him, Ken sighed and said.

"I came here just to ask you, did someone named Suzaku Himejima ever come here?"

"Himejima... Suzaku? wait a minute... now that you say it, I'm remembering. Suzaku did come here, but after greeting me, she left to meet Baraqiel before finally leaving here." Azazel replied while massaging his chin.

"How many times has she come here?" Ken asked again.

"As far as I remember, that girl has only come here once, that too not long after an unpleasant case happened to Baraqiel's wife and daughter." Azazel answered after thinking for a moment.

"Hmm~ judging from your answer, it looks like she'll be coming here a second time." Ken hummed and said with a position like he was thinking.

On the other hand, Azazel who heard this looked at Ken strangely and didn't understand what the man was talking about.

"Okay, let's forget this topic of conversation. Tell me, is Lavinia Reni okay?" Ken asked and changed the topic.

"The girl is fine, besides... I've always wanted to ask you this, where did you find Reni-chan before bringing her to me?" Azazel answered and threw a question at the end of his sentence.

"Why are you so interested in that?" Ken asked.

But when he saw Azazel who was just silent with curious eyes and interested in listening, Ken sighed and leaned his back on the chair before speaking.

"I met her when the girl was ten years old..."

Ken paused his words and turned his head to look out the window, looking into the distance, with a touch of nostalgia in his eyes, Ken continued his sentence.

"Sometime later, I accidentally saw her practicing magic alone on the outskirts of the forest, a place where ordinary humans never go."

"Then, when I saw that girl making a mistake in her training, I decided to go out and meet her to help her by giving her some pointers."

"In the process, I introduced myself to her, and she introduced herself to me."

"From then on, I would always make time to come to the same place and help that girl practice magic."

"Although it only lasted for less than a year, yet I think... I might have left my shadow in her heart unintentionally."

"And the rest... as you already know, by the time Lavinia was already thirteen years old, when the girl was outside with those boys of yours, I appeared and met her again before starting a short conversation and then I left."

"If I remember correctly, that was also our first meeting at the same time, wasn't it, Azazel?"

Ken finished his words with a question at the end of his explanation for Azazel.

Azazel opened his mouth to respond.

"Heh~ I still remember it very clearly, back then the first impression I got after seeing you was that you were a punk." Azazel said jokingly to mock Ken.

"Haha, really? Just because I forgot to cut my long hair, you came to that conclusion?" Ken laughed lightly.

Hearing Ken's words, Azazel glared at him and said.

"You almost killed me that time, asshole!"

"Come on~ you're the first person to suddenly stand in front of me and become alert. besides, didn't I explain it to you? it was just a misunderstanding." Ken replied in a playful tone to tease Azazel back.

"Really? At that time you said that you had just eaten an excessive amount of food and you became so energetic, so you couldn't help yourself. Is it really like that?" Azazel asked with a mocking expression.

"UmU, that's right." Ken replied with a flat face.

"Bullshit!" Azazel immediately denied and felt that if this conversation continued, he would probably look like someone who was being force-fed dog poop by Ken.

When the taste of tea in his throat started to become bitter, Azazel decided it was better to change the subject as soon as possible.

"So, what's next?" Azazel asked before taking a sip from the glass of tea in his hand.

The tea's sweet taste and fragrant aroma refreshed him and saved him from the previous pile of dirt.

"For now I want to look around and wander around first, then I'll look for you again." Ken answered Azazel after thinking for a moment.

"Hmm... that's fine. do you need someone to guide you while you're here?" Azazel asked.

"No need, me and Tiamat here can do it by ourselves." Ken rejected Azazel's offer by waving his hand.

"Haahh... I had expected this before, but when you confirmed it directly, I didn't know what to say." Azazel sighed and looked back and forth between Ken and Tiamat.

"Is something wrong?" Tiamat who had been silent for a long time this time opened her mouth and spoke.

"No, I just didn't expect that this guy could make a contract with you and make you his familiar." Azazel smiled and said.

For Ken and Tiamat, perhaps they didn't see anything strange about this considering that both of them made an agreement at the beginning by fighting.

With Tiamat recognizing Ken's victory in the end, Tiamat was willing to make a contract and become his familiar.

But the same could not be said for Azazel.

Azazel could rule out if it was about Ken's strength, but weren't Dragons always arrogant and full of pride?

Azazel who had lived for a long time knew very well about this matter.

Even if someone is stronger than the Dragon, is it so easy to make that proud and arrogant Dragon obey?

Moreover, the one in front of him right now was one of the few [Legendary Dragons] and one of the [Five Great Dragon Kings], moreover the most powerful among them.

Thinking about it up to this point, Azazel became very curious about what tricks Ken had used to make someone like Tiamat submit to him.

Azazel was just about to open his mouth and speak, but Ken's voice rang in his ears and cut him off cruelly.

"Forget it, I won't speak further."

Hearing his words, Azazel could only swallow back the words stuck in his throat and looked at Ken and Tiamat back and forth, before sighing helplessly.

"Alright, alright, I won't dig any deeper." Azazel said and waved his hand in defeat.

After saying that, Ken got up from his seat followed by Tiamat before walking towards the door and opening it.

"In that case, I'll leave now and call you back later." Ken said.

"Okay, just enjoy your time." Azazel said and nodded his head.

Ken then walked out of the room with Tiamat by his side.

Closing the door behind him, Ken then wrapped his arms around Tiamat's waist and hugged her.

"Let's take a short walk while we're here." Ken said.

"No problem, I'll always accompany you." Tiamat replied softly and rested her head on Ken's shoulder.

Ken then kissed Tiamat's forehead and smiled at her which made the Female Dragon's cheeks blush slightly.

With that, the two left together and embraced each other intimately like a couple in love and didn't care about the views of the people around them.
