The family
Sam's Point of View
I woke up to an unsettling emptiness beside me. Bella wasn't in bed. Groggily, I tried to recall what had happened. Then it hit me I had left her in the other room to take my medication.
Feeling a pang of guilt, I swung my legs off the bed and headed out to check on her. The villa was unusually quiet. I checked the common areas, expecting to find her sipping tea or reading one of the books scattered around. But she wasn't there.
As I turned to grab my phone and call her, it started ringing. Jacob's name flashed on the screen.
"Jacob," I said, my voice laced with concern.
"Sir… it's ma'am Bella," he said, his tone grim. "She was attacked. She's in the hospital."
"What?" I barked, my heart pounding. "What happened?"
"I'll explain everything when you get here," he said quickly.
"I'm on my way," I replied, already grabbing my jacket.
