Sam's Point of View
The house was quiet when I arrived, too quiet. I glanced around, expecting to see Bella somewhere, but she was nowhere in sight.
"Where's Bella?" I asked the maid as she passed by with a tray of glasses.
"She stepped out, sir," the maid replied politely before continuing on her way.
I sighed and loosened my tie, the weight of the day pressing heavily on my shoulders. Dropping into the plush armchair in the living room, I leaned back, closing my eyes briefly, replaying every word from my earlier conversation with Kelvin.
I remember his words
This file pertains to an incident that occurred 27 years ago. Workers at one of our facilities died in an accident, and Father ordered me to pay off their families to ensure they wouldn't talk about it.
Why would grandfather do such a thing? Maybe the family carries a lot of secrets just as he always said but silencing people with money is a justification.
