Justice on the Line
Bella's Point of View
The courtroom was tense, the air so thick with anticipation that it felt like I was suffocating. I sat in the back, disguised in a dark trench coat, wide-brimmed hat, and sunglasses. I couldn't risk being recognized, not when so much was at stake. My brother's life, his freedom, it all hung in the balance.
He didn't belong here. He was no criminal. He was just a delivery guy caught in a terrible misunderstanding.
The prosecutor stood tall, his voice sharp as a blade as he addressed the court.
"Your Honor, the facts of this case are clear. The defendant, Mr Mark was apprehended in possession of a substantial amount of illegal narcotics. These drugs were concealed within a package he was delivering. Whether he knew the contents or not, his involvement is undeniable."
My hands clenched into fists as I sat in the shadows. This was a gross oversimplification of the truth.
