The meeting room buzzed with an undercurrent of tension as we all gathered. My aunts, uncles, and cousins each a player in this family game were present. Ruth and her husband, Peter and his wife, and Maya were seated, their expressions ranging from calm calculation to thinly veiled suspicion. I took a deep breath and stepped in, determined not to let the weight of this moment crush me. 

As the meeting began, Kelvin wasted no time asserting himself. "I believe, before Father died, he made it clear that I should be the next chairman of the company. Even though he considered making Sam the chairman, he ultimately changed his mind," Kelvin said, his voice smooth but cutting. 

"Lie," I said sharply, my voice reverberating through the room. 

All eyes turned toward me.
