Chapter 9: Multi Shadow clone Jutsu.
The sun shone brightly through the windows of the Academy, casting light across the classroom as Iruka-sensei began the day's lesson. His voice was calm but firm, commanding the attention of almost every student.
"Alright, everyone. Today, we're reviewing key subjects—mathematics, history, language reading and writing, science, and hand seals. All of these are important for your exams, so make sure you pay attention."
Most of the class sat upright, eyes focused on Iruka as he went over the topics. Sakura, Hinata, Shino, Ino and many of students diligently wrote notes, listening closely, while Kiba and Choji did their best to follow along. The pressure of the upcoming exams weighed heavily on the room, and no one wanted to fall behind.
But not everyone was interested.
At the back of the room, Shikamaru had already slouched in his chair, eyes half-closed. He found the whole situation "too troublesome" and had decided he could pass the exams with minimal effort. With a soft sigh, he positioned himself behind Choji's larger frame and closed his eyes. Before long, soft snores escaped him as he drifted off to sleep.
Naruto, sitting just a few seats away, noticed Shikamaru's bold nap and grinned. "Man, Shikamaru's got the right idea," he muttered to himself. The thought of sitting through lectures about math and history made his head hurt. He wanted to be out there training, not stuck in a classroom.
Naruto lowered his head behind the taller student in front of him, mimicking Shikamaru's posture. "Just a quick nap," he thought, closing his eyes.
Beside him, Hinata shyly glanced at Naruto, her eyes filled with concern. She had been watching him fidget for a while and now noticed his head drooping. She hesitated, her fingers fidgeting nervously. Gathering her courage, she lightly tapped his arm and whispered in her soft, gentle voice.
"N-Naruto-kun… please, you should pay attention," Hinata said, her cheeks flushed with nervousness.
Naruto blinked, waking up slightly at the sound of Hinata's voice. He rubbed his eyes and smiled awkwardly. "Ah, sorry, Hinata," he mumbled, trying to act as if he hadn't just been caught dozing off. "It's just… this stuff isn't really my thing."
Hinata smiled shyly, relieved that Naruto responded, but she continued to focus on her notes, while Naruto leaned back in his chair, fighting off the urge to sleep again.
Meanwhile, Sasuke fully engaged in the lesson. His expression was focused, his mind carefully absorbing every detail Iruka was explaining.
As the lesson continued, Iruka moved from mathematics into history. "Now, remember the events that led to the founding of the Hidden Leaf Village," he said, turning toward the chalkboard and writing key points. "These moments shaped the world we live in today, and understanding them is crucial for every shinobi."
Naruto shifted in his seat again, glancing over at Sasuke. He couldn't help but notice how intensely his friend was paying attention. It bugged him a little—how could Sasuke be so focused on all this boring stuff? Naruto sighed quietly. In no time, he dozed off.
After sometime, Iruka transitioned into hand seals. "As shinobi, one of the most crucial skills you'll need to master is the ability to perform hand seals quickly and correctly," he said, tapping the chalkboard where he had drawn the symbols for the basic seals. "If you can't perform these properly, your jutsu will be delayed—and in the middle of battle, that could cost you your life."
Naruto's attention snapped back to reality as Hinata tugged at him; she had noticed him training that morning. He quickly refocused on the subject. Hand seals—this was something that mattered. He glanced down at his own hands and then back at the board, mentally going over the seals Iruka was demonstrating.
But after a few minutes, he dozed off, realizing that he already knew everything Iruka-sensei was saying. Hinata gently nudged him, but seeing that he didn't wake up, she didn't continue.
The hours passed slowly as Iruka meticulously reviewed every subject, determined to prepare his students for the upcoming exams. By the time he finished, the classroom was filled with a mix of students: some confident, others overwhelmed.
Iruka finally set the chalk down and faced the class. "Alright, that's enough for today. Remember, you only have ten days to prepare. Use your time wisely. The exams are coming up fast, and I expect you all to be ready."
The class collectively let out a sigh of relief. Shikamaru stirred from his nap, stretching lazily. "Finally, that's over," he muttered, yawning as he sat up.
Naruto stretched as well, grinning. "Man, that was long."
As Naruto sat up, rubbing his eyes, he noticed Sasuke signaling him from across the room. Sasuke held up hand, then quickly folded them down to show the number 12. Naruto's eyes lit up with recognition; it was a signal to meet at Training Ground 12.
"Hey, Hinata!" Naruto called, quickly standing up. "I gotta go! See you later!" He waved goodbye to her and then glanced over at Shikamaru, Choji, and the rest of their group.
"See you guys!" he shouted before bolting out of the classroom.
Sasuke was already on the move, dashing out of the Academy before the girls could swarm him with their usual questions and compliments. He wanted to avoid the attention, knowing it would only slow him down.
As Naruto raced down the streets of Konoha, the familiar sights and sounds of the villagers' hateful glares and curses greeted him, but he didn't care as he had completely adapted to Naruto's memories.
After half an hour, the sun hung high in the sky, signaling that it was afternoon. Naruto and Sasuke arrived at Training Ground 12, both feeling the heat of the day.
Sasuke had washed up and looked refreshed, a stark contrast to Naruto, who was still buzzing with energy. As they approached the training area, Sasuke pulled out a bag.
"Here," he said, handing it over to Naruto. "I brought food for you—enough for three days."
Naruto looked at the food with gratitude. "Thanks, man." Sasuke had calculated correctly— the three days' worth of food for Naruto was enough for an adult man to eat for five days.
"Let's eat first," Sasuke said, "as we cannot train on empty stomach."
Naruto eagerly agreed to eat, and the two settled down to enjoy the meal Sasuke had brought. They dug in, savoring the flavors as they ate until they were both completely full.
As they finished, Sasuke pulled out a scroll from his pouch, a smirk playing on his lips. "I have a surprise gift for you, Naruto. Can you guess what it is?"
Naruto's eyes lit up with excitement. "Multi shadow clone jutsu?" he guessed, grinning widely.
Sasuke's eyebrow twitched in annoyance. "Well, that was a no-brainer," he said, crossing his arms. He couldn't help but feel a little exasperated. Of course, he could only gift Naruto that particular jutsu, the one that had carried original Naruto throughout part 1— the Multi–Shadow Clone Jutsu.
The Uchiha clan was one of the top clans in Konoha, so it was common for them to possess some forbidden jutsu. As the sole survivor of his clan, Sasuke could look into the clan's jutsu arsenal whenever he wanted
"Come on, you could've at least pretended to think about it!" Sasuke remarked, rolling his eyes.
Naruto chuckled, unfazed by Sasuke's reaction. "What can I say? I know you too well! But this is awesome! I cannot wait to train."
Sasuke tossed the scroll at Naruto, who caught it with one hand, his excitement palpable. He quickly unrolled the scroll, his eyes scanning the contents eagerly.
Just then, a notification window popped up before him:
[ Ding! Multi Shadow Clone Jutsu has been recorded!]
Naruto's face lit up with joy. "Yes! I can finally learn this!" he exclaimed. 'I can finally take off.' His thoughts wandered off.

Sasuke, who was off to the side, had been focusing on mastering the regular Shadow Clone Jutsu. "You won't succeed in one try, Naruto! You're too eager," he called out, frustration creeping into his voice.
Naruto shrugged it off and tried again, but once more, his attempt failed. Meanwhile, Sasuke attempted the simpler version, creating a single shadow clone. It flickered into existence but quickly dissipated. "Tch, this is harder than I thought," he muttered.

Time passed slowly as both boys continued their training. An hour later, Sasuke felt his chakra reserves dwindling. "I need to take a break," he said, sitting down on a nearby rock to mediate for faster recovery.
Naruto, on the other hand, was relentless. He refused to give up, continuing to practice the hand seals over and over again. "Come on, come on! I can do this!" he encouraged himself, sweat beading on his forehead.

After about half an hour of resting, Sasuke regained his energy and decided to give the Shadow Clone Jutsu another shot. This time, he focused more intently, visualizing the clone's form in his mind. "Here we go," he whispered, forming the seals once again. To his relief, this time the clone successfully materialized beside him, looking just like him.
"I did it!" Sasuke exclaimed, with a hint of excitement.
