In the clock tower, inside Zilore's study, Kael stood with slumped shoulders, his mouth wide open, blankly staring at the mountain of books piled up for him. He asked unsurely, "Sir Zilore, is it necessary to study all these books to manifest my powers?"
Zilore, sitting behind his study table, nodded his head seriously. "Unfortunately, yes, my prince. If your powers had awakened naturally, you wouldn't need to study these books, but in your case, you have to study and research to find your powers. Once they show signs of awakening, I will help you manifest them. Now, please," he gestured towards the paper mountains.
"I would rather carry another ten buckets of dung," Kael muttered under his breath, only to hear a snicker from the table across Zilore. Kael glared at the little girl ridiculing him and frowned.
"Mekey, behave," Zilore said monotonously to his granddaughter, without taking his eyes away from the book before him.
