"My majesty, I think the captain is right. They have been assigned the task of escorting you safely to our kingdom. Therefore, it's their responsibility to protect you at the cost of their lives. I don't think there is anything to praise or honor them for," Halvian stated, his eyes briefly falling on Alaric's peg leg.
Alistar's lips twitched. "Sir Halvian, it's one thing to be assigned a task and another thing to accomplish it successfully. The matter we're discussing here is that the crew put their lives on the line to protect our majesty."
"I understand, you haven't been on the waters often because of your small and pale frame. But one should at least be aware of the dangers in Netherveil," Alistar brushed off the minister's comment with a dismissive wave.
A few ministers tried to suppress their laughter at the defense minister's jab. It was no secret that Alistar often poked fun at Sir Halvian's frail body.
