Chapter 280 - Chapter 27: The Tournament of Power Part Thirteen

Whis's explanation did not hold back any details, and all the warriors on the arena, including Jiren, heard his words.

"Ultra Instinct?" Jiren was unfamiliar with what this state entailed, but he believed that no matter what level one achieved, a person's foundational strength could not be drastically improved in an instant.

Thus, Jiren dismissed the idea that Ultra Instinct could rival him and immediately launched a punch at John Doe.

However, John Doe's performance once again astonished Jiren. No matter how many punches Jiren threw, John Doe effortlessly evaded them.

Then, with a resounding "bang," John Doe landed a punch squarely in Jiren's abdomen.

While it wasn't particularly painful, it felt incredibly humiliating to Jiren.

He staggered back a few steps, shock evident on his face as he processed what had just happened.

Not only was Jiren surprised, but even the Supreme Kai and Destroyer God from Universe Eleven looked on in disbelief.

The clownish Destroyer God leaned over the railing of the stands and shouted, "How is this possible? Jiren should be invincible!"

Beerus replied coolly, "Jiren's invincibility only applies within your Universe Eleven. When looking across all universes, he is not invincible."

"Let's not even mention Universe Seven; there are still four universes with power levels of 7 that haven't participated yet."

Ignoring the ongoing argument between the two Destroyers in the stands, Jiren turned his attention to John Doe. "You're impressive. I acknowledge your strength; you deserve to fight me at full power."

With that, Jiren began to unleash his energy. A crimson aura erupted from him as he prepared to attack John Doe.

This time, Jiren's speed increased dramatically—twice as fast as before. Even though John Doe had grasped Ultra Instinct, the gap in their foundational strength was too great for him to do anything other than hold his ground against Jiren.

Meanwhile, Vegeta and Toppo were locked in combat; however, their focus was clearly elsewhere as they monitored the battles unfolding around them.

Seeing that Jiren was now evenly matched with John Doe made Toppo realize that he needed to end his fight quickly and assist Jiren. If this continued, Universe Eleven would be at risk of elimination due to their dwindling numbers.

Toppo looked at Vegeta and declared, "You're strong. Out of respect, I will fight you seriously. I will defeat you and then go help Jiren."

Vegeta scoffed at Toppo's words. They had already been fighting for several minutes without either side gaining a clear advantage.

"You're dreaming," Vegeta replied dismissively.

Toppo ignored Vegeta's retort and began to power up. A tremendous golden aura erupted from him, shaking the entire arena as it soared into the sky.

The intensity of his energy caused all other battles on stage to momentarily pause as they felt the pressure of Toppo's power.

After a moment, the golden aura receded, revealing a layer of purple energy enveloping Toppo. His previously closed eyes slowly opened to reveal that even the whites of his eyes had turned purple.

Seeing this transformation from the stands, Beerus exclaimed in surprise: "What's happening to him? Is he becoming a Destroyer?"

The clownish Destroyer God sheepishly admitted: "Sorry, I forgot to mention that Toppo is our Universe Eleven's candidate for Destroyer."

"So you might as well give up; you have no chance against us! The ultimate victory in this tournament will belong to Universe Eleven while you will be erased," he proclaimed confidently.

Vegeta regarded Toppo's imposing presence with narrowed eyes before casually firing an energy blast to test him.

However, upon impact with Toppo's purple energy barrier, the blast dissipated into sparkling particles in mid-air.

Toppo smirked and said: "Useless! Your attacks can't touch me because I'm now a Destroyer."

With that declaration, he raised his right hand and shouted: "Destruction!" A massive purple energy sphere began to gather above him before launching toward Vegeta.

Vegeta fired multiple energy blasts at the incoming sphere but failed to stop its advance; each blast vanished upon contact with Toppo's destructive energy.

"There's no use! Destructive energy cannot be stopped by lower-tier attacks; you might as well surrender!" Toppo taunted.

After hearing Toppo's words, Vegeta initially chuckled softly before bursting into laughter.

Many spectators frowned at Vegeta's reaction—was he losing his mind?

Toppo thrust his hand forward again as the destructive energy sphere sped toward Vegeta.

Without flinching or dodging, Vegeta raised both hands in an attempt to block it.

"You're wasting your effort; you cannot stop destructive energy!" Toppo declared confidently.

As soon as Vegeta made contact with the destructive energy sphere, his gloves and clothing began disintegrating into particles before vanishing completely into thin air.

The destructive energy enveloped Vegeta entirely.

"Vegeta!" everyone gasped in concern for him—wondering if he would survive being consumed by such overwhelming power.

Just when they thought all hope was lost for Vegeta wrapped in destruction energy, they were shocked to see that the sphere began shrinking down until it was only the size of a billiard ball resting in Vegeta's hands.

"What?! How is this possible?!" both Toppo and the clownish Destroyer God exclaimed in disbelief.

As they spoke, purple light radiated from Vegeta's body while his hair shifted from blue to purple hues.

Beerus smiled at this turn of events and remarked to the clownish Destroyer God: "You think only your Universe Eleven has candidates for Destroyer? Sorry to say—Vegeta has also mastered destruction!"

"Damn it!" The clownish Destroyer God realized that Universe Seven had warriors of equal caliber to their own top fighters like Jiren and Toppo.

"You shouldn't get too cocky! The ultimate victory will still belong to Universe Eleven!" he shouted defiantly despite his growing anxiety.

Beerus merely scoffed dismissively at this proclamation without further comment.
