After defeating Black John Doe, John Doe and his team were planning to continue their training in the realm of the Destroyer God. However, to their surprise, they were kicked out by the Destroyer God Beerus.
The reason given was that their training was disrupting Beerus's sleep, and if they wished to continue training in his realm, they would have to wait until he woke up.
Nevertheless, John Doe felt that continuing his training was essential, especially after the beating he had taken from Black John Doe. So, under the watchful gaze of Goku, he began to reside on the Kai Planet.
Initially, Goku had invited both Vegeta and John Doe to join him.
Vegeta, however, stated that he preferred to stay in his own gravity room to train, and he didn't want to accompany Goku to the Kai Planet.
John Doe, on the other hand, expressed his intention to train alone. He wanted to focus on learning to control his mental state and attempt to master the Ultra Instinct.
Goku was amazed at John Doe's determination and exclaimed, "You're incredible, John Doe! I'm still not entirely sure what Ultra Instinct is, but it seems incredibly difficult to master."
John Doe waved him off, saying, "Never mind, I don't want to think about it anymore. My brain is too tired. Let's go to the Kai Planet."
Goku bid farewell to Vegeta and John Doe with a wave of his hand and vanished in front of them using Instant Transmission.
John Doe and Vegeta returned to their respective homes.
Axel Doe was delighted and excited to learn that his father would be staying at home for an extended period.
Seeing Axel Doe's reaction, John Doe felt a twinge of guilt. He had spent too much time training outside and hadn't spent enough time with his son.
So, every day, John Doe would take Axel Doe with him for training, passing on his combat experience and special techniques.
In the afternoons, John Doe would sit on a cliff overlooking the sea, meditating to calm his mind.
He stared blankly at the sky and the sea in front of him.
On clear and calm days, the sky and the sea were a deep blue.
The sky was filled with white clouds gently blown by the breeze, and the sea had small waves created by the wind, making the entire scene peaceful.
However, during storms, dark clouds swirled in the sky, and the sea churned with waves crashing against the cliffs and spraying foam.
Day after day, John Doe sat on the cliff every afternoon without fail.
On this particular day, a strong tropical storm hit the island. Thick, dark clouds were blown in by the wind, and it seemed one could touch the clouds above with an outstretched hand.
The wind whipped up waves over ten meters high, crashing against the steep cliffs. Eventually, a massive wave swept John Doe off the cliff into the sea.
Seeing his father swept into the sea by the waves, Axel Doe was terrified. He shouted for his father while running to save him.
Android 18 quickly followed, helping to search while reassuring Axel Doe, "Don't worry, Axel Doe. Your father is so strong; nothing will happen to him."
Just as Android 18 predicted, a figure emerged from the sea and landed on the cliff.
Although John Doe was soaked, he burst into laughter, "I finally understand! I finally understand!"
Relieved that his father was safe, Axel Doe happily jumped into John Doe's arms.
Android 18, curious, asked John Doe, "You've been sitting on this cliff for half a year, and now you say you've figured something out. What have you realized?"
John Doe smiled and replied, "I've figured out how to further improve my strength. My state of mind has been unstable, and now I finally know why. After some more training, I'll be able to enter that legendary state at any time."
"What state has you so excited?" Android 18 asked curiously.
John Doe shook his head and said, "Let me keep this a little mysterious for now. I want to give Goku, Vegeta, and Lord Beerus a surprise."
"Pfft, as if anyone cares," Android 18 replied with dissatisfaction. Then, taking Axel Doe's hand, she said, "Your dad is sleeping outside today, let him sleep with his secrets. Let's go back inside."
John Doe didn't mind Android 18's departure, as the realization he had just made was extremely important to him.
As for Vegeta, he was training in the realm of the Destroyer God. His previous battle with Black John Doe had made him aware of the gap between himself and John Doe and Goku.
He believed that he could catch up to them, so he waited at home for Whis.
After Beerus woke up, Vegeta immediately followed Whis to the Destroyer Planet, where he was now learning the power of destruction from Beerus.
Every time Vegeta thought about how John Doe and Goku could enter the state of Pseudo Ultra Instinct in a short time, he became furious. So, he was now following Beerus to learn the power of destruction with all his might.
Beerus, seeing that Vegeta still couldn't use the power of destruction, became impatient.
Whis had trained John Doe and Goku to use Pseudo Ultra Instinct in a short time, but Vegeta, whom Beerus was training, could only use his energy to smash stones into smaller pieces.
Beerus stopped Vegeta from continuing his training and said, "Vegeta, do you know why you still can't use the power of destruction?"
Vegeta, panting and sighing, replied, "I don't know, Lord Beerus. I can feel that I'm trying to use my energy to smash the stones at the molecular level, but I can't seem to do it. There's always a barrier blocking me."
"It's because your mind is not calm," Beerus said.
"My mind is not calm?" Vegeta asked, surprised.
"Yes, your mind is not calm. Although the mental state required for the power of destruction is not as demanding as Ultra Instinct, it's still not something anyone can use," Beerus explained.
"Ultra Instinct requires a calm mind, while the power of destruction requires your mind to be focused solely on destruction."
"Once your mind is focused on destruction," Beerus continued, picking up a stone and making it float in his hand. A small purple destructive energy entered the stone, and it shattered into nothingness in the air.
"Only then can you use the power of destruction," Beerus emphasized.
