Chapter 183 - Chapter 5: Seven Years Have Passed

Time flies, and before long, seven years have passed since the game with Babidi. During these seven years, Earth has remained peaceful and free of new enemies.

Little Axel has grown up healthy and is now seven years old.

After the incident with Babidi, John Doe realizes that, despite knowing the original plot, the story will not unfold according to his expectations. Babidi is a prime example of this.

In anticipation of future enemies, John Doe needs to accelerate his training. He begins his training again when Little Axel is just one or two years old.

Since their last match on Planet King Kai, John Doe, Goku, and Vegeta have become a well-coordinated team, choosing to focus on their training rather than challenging others.

Currently, Goku is training on Planet King Kai, John Doe is training in the Temple of the Supreme Kai, and Vegeta is training in his own gravity chamber.

The three are training in three different places, without disturbing each other.

That day, John Doe is resting on the small island near his home. Since John Doe recognized his true self and awakened the hidden Super Saiyan power within him, his strength has increased exponentially, almost changing daily. Additionally, John Doe successfully broke through to a new level a year ago.

At that moment, John Doe is training Axel in the yard of their home. Normally, when John Doe is away training, Number 18 trains Axel, but when John Doe returns, he takes over Axel's training.

Axel enjoys training with his father.

John Doe asks Axel, "How are you doing, Axel? Can you transform into a Super Saiyan yet?"

Axel excitedly replies, "Dad, I can transform now." He then releases his energy and transforms into a Super Saiyan.

After the transformation, Axel looks proudly at his father and says, "Dad, am I not awesome now?"

John Doe nods and says, "Not bad, very impressive. You're even more powerful than I was back then. When I broke through to the Super Saiyan level, it was only after Krillin sacrificed himself that I was able to transform successfully. I never expected you to be so powerful."

"What about Trunks and Goten? Can they transform too?" John Doe asks.

Axel nods and says, "Yes, we all transformed around the same time. One day, we were sparring with each other, and for some reason, Trunks transformed into a Super Saiyan first. Then, Goten and I transformed successfully not long after."

"So, Vegeta and Goku don't know that you can transform?" John Doe continues.

Axel thinks for a moment and says, "I don't think so. Vegeta Uncle is always training in the gravity chamber, and Goku Uncle leaves early every day and is never seen again."

"I bet they'll be shocked when they find out their sons can suddenly transform into Super Saiyans." John Doe laughs heartily.

At that moment, Gohan flies over from next door, where Bulma lives. In the sky, he greets John Doe and Axel.

"Uncle John Doe, Axel, good afternoon!"

"Good afternoon, Gohan Brother!" Axel jumps and waves at Gohan in the sky.

Number 18, who was inside the house and heard Gohan's voice, comes out and greets Gohan too.

John Doe asks, "Gohan, how come you have time to come over and play today? Don't you have to go to school?"

Gohan replies, somewhat exasperated, "Uncle John Doe, I'm already done with school for the day."

"School's out already? Isn't it a bit early for classes to be over?" John Doe looks at Number 18 and asks.

Number 18 shrugs and says, "I don't know. Your son is taking private lessons with Trunks, so I'm not too familiar with school matters."

"Alright, then. Gohan, is there something you came over for today, or did you just want to see us?" John Doe continues, looking at Gohan's strange outfit.

Axel, standing next to him, plays with Gohan's red cape, full of curiosity.

Gohan replies, "It's like this, Uncle John Doe. One of my classmates invited me to participate in the 25th World Martial Arts Tournament. Later, my dad found out about it and said he wanted to participate too, so he asked me to invite everyone to join."

"I see. It looks like Goku has made a big breakthrough in his training lately. Since he lost to me the last time we fought on Planet King Kai, he hasn't challenged me again. That's not like him."

"Now that he's inviting me to compete, it looks like he's made a real breakthrough this time." John Doe says.

"Hey, tell me secretly, has your dad made a huge breakthrough in his training?" John Doe asks Gohan.

Gohan replies, somewhat embarrassed, "Uncle, I don't know. You know that my dad is always training on Planet King Kai, so I have no idea what level his training has reached."

"I see. Alright, then. You go ahead and reply. I'll participate in this World Martial Arts Tournament." John Doe says.

Then, John Doe looks at Number 18 and asks, "Number 18, do you want to participate too?"

Number 18 shakes her head and replies, "Let's not do that. I don't want to go up there and be a monkey for people to look at."

Upon hearing Number 18's words, John Doe asks Gohan, "By the way, Gohan, how much is the prize money for this tournament?"

"The prize money, huh? I think the champion gets 10 million Sonics, the runner-up gets 5 million Sonics, third place gets 3 million Sonics, fourth place gets 2 million Sonics, and fifth place gets 1 million Sonics." Gohan thinks for a moment and replies.

Upon hearing that the tournament offers such a large prize, Number 18 exclaims, "Let's participate! Our whole family will participate. John Doe, you have to win the championship, and I and Axel have to get into the top five."

Axel, startled by his mother's sudden change of expression, asks, "Mommy, weren't you just saying you wouldn't participate?"

Number 18 replies, "Before, I didn't want to participate because I knew I couldn't win the championship. But now that there's prize money for the top five, of course, we have to take that money back. Who would turn down money?"

Axel can only smile awkwardly and say, "Mommy, I'm happy for you."

John Doe, of course, understands Number 18 very well. She has no flaws, just a love for money and shiny jewelry. It doesn't matter how much money it is; if there's money to be had, she'll take it. So, as soon as Gohan mentions the prize money, Number 18 decides to participate.

After Gohan informs them about the World Martial Arts Tournament, he prepares to leave. Axel asks Gohan, "Gohan Brother, your outfit is so cool. Can I ask where you bought it?"

Upon hearing Axel praise his outfit, Gohan becomes excited and even does a dance he made up, a Super Saiyan God dance. He asks Axel proudly, "Axel, what do you think? Isn't your brother cool?"

After watching Gohan's dance, Axel immediately loses interest in the outfit and turns to Number 18, saying, "Mommy, I think the outfit you bought for me last time is pretty good. I'll wear that outfit for the World Martial Arts Tournament."
