And so, the two of them, holding a bank card with a balance of five billion senis, used Instant Transmission to arrive at Goku's house in the blink of an eye.
To his surprise, Bulma felt dizzy from the sudden shift in space and time, and she rushed to the side to vomit profusely.
John Doe couldn't help but laugh at Bulma's predicament. "Bulma, are you okay? If I'd known you'd get motion sickness from Instant Transmission, we could have flown here instead," he said.
Bulma waved her hand dismissively. "I'm fine. I just need to throw up a bit, and then you can go knock on Goku's door."
John Doe looked at Bulma, who seemed to be doing okay, and walked up to Goku's door, knocking on it.
Inside Goku's house, Goku was having dinner with Chi-Chi and Gohan, although it was mostly Goku and Gohan eating, with Chi-Chi watching from the side.
Goku was wolfing down his food as usual, while Gohan, being younger, was more refined in his eating habits.
Just then, someone knocked on their door. Chi-Chi stood up and walked towards the door, saying, "Who could it be at this hour? Could it be Dad coming to visit Gohan?"
Ox-King had called earlier, saying he wanted to come and see Gohan.
When Chi-Chi opened the door, she saw a familiar yet somewhat unfamiliar face. After a moment of thought, she recognised the person as her husband's fellow disciple and friend.
"It's you, John Doe, isn't it? It's been years since we last saw each other," Chi-Chi greeted him.
John Doe was relieved that Chi-Chi still recognised him. He nodded and said, "Yes, it's me, John Doe. Bulma is also here with me."
As he finished speaking, John Doe called out to Bulma, who was still vomiting nearby, "Bulma, how are you doing? Are you okay?"
Hearing that Bulma was also there, Chi-Chi immediately went outside. Seeing Bulma vomiting, she quickly fetched some water from home and gave it to Bulma to rinse her mouth. Concerned, she asked, "Bulma, what's wrong? Are you okay?"
"I'm fine. It's just that I'm not used to travelling by Instant Transmission for the first time. I'll be fine in a bit," Bulma replied, feeling better. She followed Chi-Chi into her and Goku's home.
By this time, John Doe was already chatting with Goku at the dining table.
Chi-Chi asked, "You've arrived just in time. I'll get you some bowls and chopsticks."
John Doe and Bulma had just been thinking about visiting Gohan, and they hadn't eaten dinner yet, so they joined Goku at the table without hesitation.
With the addition of another big eater, Chi-Chi went to the kitchen to prepare more food so that John Doe and Goku could eat their fill.
With John Doe joining them, Goku, who had been eating at a relatively fast pace, sped up even more. Initially, John Doe didn't notice, but when he realised that Goku was grabbing all the delicious food first, he understood that Goku was competing with him.
Back when they were training under Master Roshi, John Doe, Goku, and Krillin would compete in everything, from martial arts to eating, and even who could pee the farthest.
Of course, this was just a playful rivalry between the two men and didn't affect their friendship.
After about half an hour, the two of them finished a hearty meal. Although the taste was average, it was enough to satisfy Goku and John Doe.
After dinner, as they chatted, Bulma took out the prepared bank card and handed it to Chi-Chi, saying, "Chi-Chi, you didn't tell us when Gohan was born. If John Doe hadn't found out and told me, I wouldn't have known when Gohan was born."
"Chi-Chi, the money in this card is a gift from John Doe and me. Goku is clearly not a person who can manage money, so I'm giving it to you," Bulma said, handing the bank card to Chi-Chi.
However, Chi-Chi was hesitant to accept it immediately. Although she knew that Bulma and John Doe were Goku's childhood friends, she wasn't sure if she should accept the money. Whether to accept it or not, she needed Goku's decision, as he was the head of the household.
So, Chi-Chi looked at Goku, seeking his opinion.
Goku, on the other hand, looked at Chi-Chi with a blank expression, not understanding what she meant.
Seeing Goku's clueless expression, Chi-Chi became frustrated. In the end, she made the decision herself.
Chi-Chi had originally wanted to return the card, but John Doe spoke up, "Chi-Chi, please accept it. With the relationship we have with Goku, money is just a number."
"Moreover, Goku is such a big eater, and Gohan's appetite will also grow. Your household expenses are high, so you should accept it. In the future, if we need help, we can ask Goku to assist us."
Chi-Chi had thought there were only a few hundred thousand senis in the bank card, but after hearing John Doe's words, she reconsidered. She felt that it was unnecessary to be so unfriendly between friends, so she accepted the card.
And so, they continued chatting, with Bulma constantly playing with little Gohan.
John Doe watched Bulma playing with Gohan and couldn't help but ask Goku and Chi-Chi, "I don't see any martial arts training on Gohan. Goku, why don't you teach Gohan martial arts?"
At that moment, Goku spoke without hesitation, "Oh, it's because Chi-Chi doesn't want me to teach Gohan... Ouch!" As Goku spoke, he felt a sharp pain in his waist, and he cried out in pain.
"Chi-Chi, why did you pinch me?" Goku rubbed the sore spot on his waist and complained to Chi-Chi.
Chi-Chi gave Goku a threatening look, then smiled at John Doe and said, "John Doe, it's like this. I think that now the world is at peace, and Demon King Piccolo isn't causing any trouble. So, instead of martial arts training, I believe it's better to nurture Gohan to become a scholar."
"You talk about martial arts, but even someone as skilled as Goku can't earn money or gain social status. I think it's better for Gohan to become a scholar."
John Doe had come not only to deliver a gift but also to convince Chi-Chi to let Gohan learn martial arts.
After hearing Chi-Chi's explanation, John Doe asked her, "Chi-Chi, may I ask you a question? Do you or Goku have any famous scholars in your family?"
Chi-Chi was taken aback, unsure of what John Doe meant. However, she replied, "I don't think so." As far as Chi-Chi knew, Goku and his grandfather Gohan were both disciples of Master Roshi and were famous martial artists.
Her father, Ox-King, was also a disciple of Master Roshi in his youth and was known as the Ox-King. As for herself, she seemed to have trained in martial arts with her father and didn't have much scholarly knowledge.
