Android 17 and Android 18 (let's stick to these names, as they are more familiar) began to attack John frantically. John was unwilling to strike back, so he could only continuously dodge and defend.
After attacking for a while, Androids 17 and 18 realized their attacks were not harming John, and he seemed reluctant to fight them, so they stopped.
Android 17 asked, "Why aren't you fighting back? Do you look down on us?"
John shook his head and said, "I don't fight back because I believe your nature isn't bad. You don't need to serve the Red Ribbon Army."
"We're not bad?" Android 17 laughed involuntarily. "This is the first time I've heard someone say we aren't bad; it's quite ironic."
John frowned and asked, "What's so funny about that?"
At this moment, Android 18 coldly said, "Why shouldn't it be funny? When we needed light, it abandoned us; when we fell into darkness, it wanted to redeem us."
John replied, "That's because you haven't met me. If I were there, I wouldn't let you fall into darkness..."
"Stop pretending to be virtuous; it's disgusting!" Android 17 interrupted John again and charged at him.
Worried about her brother, Android 18 followed suit and attacked.
The two, filled with rage, unleashed power beyond their previous capabilities but still struggled to land a hit on John.
After some time, Androids 17 and 18 retreated breathlessly, looking at John in shock; they never expected him to be this powerful.
"Why aren't you continuing the attack? I'm not warmed up yet," John said with his arms crossed.
Android 17 asked, "Who exactly are you? With your strength, you can't be an unknown person."
John replied, "I just introduced myself; my name is John. It might sound ordinary, but I think I should still be somewhat known."
"John, John, John," Android 17 repeated the name until he suddenly remembered and exclaimed in shock, "You are the one who defeated King Piccolo at the Martial Arts Tournament!"
"I still have a bit of a reputation; I'm not completely unknown," John nodded in acknowledgment.
At this moment, Android 18 coldly remarked, "So what? Even if you defeated King Piccolo, does that justify your reluctance to fight us today?"
"Do you look down on us?!"
"I don't look down on you; as I just said, I just think you've gone astray. You can completely detach from the Red Ribbon Army." It was a joke; how could he really say he looked down on them now if he wanted to pursue them later?
Just then, Gaka noticed from a distance that Androids 17 and 18 had stopped fighting John and became very dissatisfied. He shouted loudly, "What are you two doing? Why aren't you attacking?!"
"Shut up!" John had no compassion for Gaka. With a snap of his fingers, a scorching energy beam shot out and pierced through his body.
The once chatty Gaka fell silent on the ground.
Immediately, John's action startled everyone present, including Androids 17 and 18 and other soldiers of the Red Ribbon Army.
Seeing that John had killed Gaka, Android 17 immediately questioned loudly, "What did you just do? Do you know who he is? You just killed him?"
"Who? The god of Earth?" John asked nonchalantly. "Even if he is a god of Earth, he wouldn't dare be so arrogant in front of me."
At this moment, the god standing at the edge of the Heavenly Temple looking down heard John's words and had a face full of black lines.
Meanwhile, Androids 17 and 18 standing in front of John were also speechless; they felt that John was too arrogant—more so than they were.
They thought that the Red Ribbon Army wasn't the darkness; this John was the greatest darkness on Earth. Just think about it—someone who doesn't even regard gods as important—can this still be justice?
John had no idea that his display of strength was interpreted by his future brother-in-law and wife as the greatest evil on Earth. Not only did they not want to follow him but they were even more afraid of him.
The soldiers of the Red Ribbon Army also reacted at this moment and raised their weapons to attack John.
Immediately, the ordinary civilians behind John hurriedly fled to their homes.
To avoid causing greater casualties, John first countered those RPGs and shells being fired at him.
As for bullets, he didn't even need to dodge since those bullets couldn't even scratch his skin.
John was naturally not someone who only took hits without fighting back; he quickly dashed into the crowd of Red Ribbon Army soldiers and knocked them down effortlessly.
However, John didn't kill them; he simply repelled them.
Realizing that their weapons were ineffective against John, the soldiers of the Red Ribbon Army dropped their weapons and fled.
After dealing with these 'ants', John turned back towards where Androids 17 and 18 were located but found that they had also taken advantage of the chaos to escape.
John scratched his head; originally he didn't intend to deliberately search for Android 18 but unexpectedly encountered both of them in a small town. It was clear that fate was arranging for him to meet them again.
Just as John prepared to continue looking for them, suddenly the townspeople came out and surrounded him.
Many held eggs, meat, fruits, etc., although in small quantities.
The town mayor stepped forward to thank John saying: "Thank you, esteemed martial artist! Thank you for saving our town from the Red Ribbon Army; these are gifts from everyone as thanks."
The mayor held dozens of Sony coins and continued: "Esteemed martial artist, please don't think it's too little; we have been heavily plundered by the Red Ribbon Army and only have this left."
Looking at the extremely scarce food in the residents' hands, John said: "It doesn't matter; my actions against the Red Ribbon Army weren't for your reward."
"You should keep these foods and fruits for yourselves; I don't need these things."
The mayor knew that John didn't lack these items but even if he refused them, he still insisted that residents place food at John's feet.
At this moment, John could no longer sense Androids 17 and 18's energy. He became anxious wanting to chase after them but did not expect to be held back by the mayor.
