Chapter 62 - Chapter 35: Goodbye Goku

Master Roshi did not hide anything and directly explained to his disciples: "This Master Shen is my junior brother. When we were young, we both entered the same school to learn martial arts."

"Later, I realized that this person could not distinguish between good and evil, so I parted ways with him, leading to the establishment of the Turtle School and Crane School."

"Generally, we do not interfere with each other, but I didn't expect that today he would also arrange for his disciples to participate in the World Martial Arts Tournament. It seems that your impressive performance last time has made this little chicken jealous."

"So listen up! In this competition, when you encounter the disciples of the Crane School, you must defeat them. Their master is not my opponent; I hope his disciples won't be a match for my students either."

"Don't worry, Master Roshi! I will definitely defeat them," Krillin confidently replied. He felt extremely self-assured now and believed he could beat even Goku.

"By the way, Master Roshi, where's Goku? Why hasn't he arrived yet?" Krillin suddenly realized that Goku had not registered for the tournament.

"Is it possible that Goku will miss the registration?" Krillin said with concern.

At that moment, the registration desk announced loudly: "There are only half an hour left until registration closes! Contestants wishing to participate in the tournament should hurry up!"

Noticing that Goku might miss the registration, Yamcha said to Puar: "Puar, you should transform into Goku and register for him."

Just as Yamcha finished speaking, Goku finally came running from a distance, wearing a tiger skin outfit and barefoot, shouting: "Wait!"

Goku made it just in time before registration closed and signed up.

After a long separation, everyone was particularly happy to see each other again, especially Bulma with Goku, John with Goku, and Krillin with Goku.

Bulma asked Goku: "Goku, why did you arrive so late? You almost missed the registration time."

Goku replied: "I missed the last flight to Papaya Island. In the end, I had no choice but to swim over."

"You swam over? From where?" Yamcha asked curiously.

Goku named a location that shocked everyone because it was on the opposite side of the Earth. This meant Goku swam half the globe in three days to reach Papaya Island for the tournament.

Master Roshi reproached him slightly: "Then why didn't you use the Flying Nimbus?"

"Grandpa, you told me not to use it! Don't you remember?" Goku replied with a puzzled expression.

At this moment, Master Roshi remembered his agreement with Goku. While he sighed at Goku's innocence and honesty, he reminded him again: "Goku, you need to be more adaptable. You almost missed registration this time."

"Oh, I don't quite understand," but Goku nodded in agreement.

At this point, Krillin walked over and compared their heights. Feeling unbalanced again, he provocatively said: "Goku! I've made a lot of progress this time! I will definitely defeat you in the arena!"

Goku looked at Krillin happily and laughed: "How strong you are compared to me will have to be decided in the ring! But your height hasn't changed much in these three years! Hahaha!"

Krillin immediately felt embarrassed and didn't want to talk to Goku anymore.

Goku then walked up to John and looked at him eagerly: "John! Don't get eliminated before you meet me in the arena! I've wanted to compete with you since three years ago."

In contrast to Goku's enthusiasm, John appeared calm. He knew that for now, Goku wasn't strong enough; only after the Saiyans showed up would Goku's power truly explode. John said: "Don't worry; I'll wait for you in the finals. Let's have a good fight this time."

Once everyone finished greeting each other, Master Roshi said: "Alright! Now I'm relieved. However, since the competition starts tomorrow and to celebrate our reunion, I'll treat everyone to a meal!"

Master Roshi's suggestion was met with unanimous approval from everyone, especially Goku who patted his belly and shouted: "I haven't really eaten enough in three years! This time I want to eat until I'm full!"

Hearing this made Master Roshi recall their last meal after a tournament and suddenly realized that this time he would be paying out of pocket instead of John. If they really ate freely at a restaurant like last time with both John and Goku there, he would definitely go bankrupt. However, having already made the promise, Master Roshi felt awkward going back on his word.

Thus he steeled himself and led everyone toward a restaurant while looking for one that was cheap.

Suddenly he spotted a buffet restaurant. Although it was pricier than those outside Papaya Island, Master Roshi thought that no matter how expensive it was with two big eaters like Goku and John around, he would definitely not lose out.

Master Roshi immediately told everyone: "I never expected someone would dare open a buffet restaurant on Papaya Island! Have they never met big eaters before? Come on! Let's go inside and teach this owner a lesson so he knows opening a buffet here isn't a good idea!"

Everyone didn't mind; as long as there was food to eat they were happy. So they followed Master Roshi into the buffet restaurant.

It was clear that this buffet had just been renovated not long ago but seemed decent enough; even though it wasn't mealtime yet, most of the restaurant was already filled with patrons.

Under the guidance of a waiter, they chose a large table and began serving food to eat.

As time passed by, everyone gradually stopped eating except for Goku and John who were still devouring food like crazy. The others who had finished started helping them prepare more food.

The scene of these two big eaters astonished everyone in the restaurant; even the waiter reported this situation back to their boss.

When the boss arrived at the restaurant by car, he found that around John and Goku's table had become crowded with onlookers.

By then one-third of all ingredients in the buffet had already been consumed by John and Goku.

The restaurant owner watched helplessly as half of his stock was about to be eaten by these two without any sign of slowing down due to all the people surrounding them; he couldn't dare stop them but could only let waiters continue serving food.

Eventually after most of his ingredients were eaten up by John and Goku did they finally stop their eating frenzy.

After settling their bill, although the owner managed to let these two big eaters leave his restaurant eventually; once he saw them walk away he immediately told his staff: "Close up shop! We're shutting down! This business is a loss for me; you all need to find another job!"

Thus John and Goku caused the first buffet restaurant to go out of business; from then on their legend began circulating in culinary circles.
