The plane was quite fast, and within two hours, John piloted the aircraft, bringing Bulma to a landing right in front of Kame House.
At this point, Kame House was no longer on the small island it used to occupy; instead, it had moved to a larger nearby island, just like when John trained there years ago.
As John and Bulma entered Kame House, they found only Launch with blue hair, Oolong, and Puar inside. Master Roshi, Yamcha, and Krillin were clearly outside training.
Seeing John and Bulma enter, Launch, who was preparing lunch for everyone, immediately greeted John.
John said, "Launch, please prepare more food today; you know how I am—just a little bit of food is never enough for me."
"Sure thing, John!" Launch happily agreed. Her greatest joy was seeing her cooking enjoyed by others.
Soon, Launch left Kame House to buy more ingredients for a hearty meal.
Since it was almost noon, John decided not to go look for Master Roshi and the others; the island was quite large, and he had no idea where they were training.
Finally, around noon, Krillin and Yamcha returned to Kame House looking exhausted.
"Hey, Krillin! Yamcha!" John greeted as they were changing their shoes.
Upon seeing John sitting inside the house, Krillin and Yamcha immediately cheered up. Krillin excitedly rushed forward and hugged John.
John looked closely at Krillin and teased him: "Krillin, have you been slacking off these past few years? You've only grown a little bit taller! Is Master Roshi not feeding you enough?"
Krillin's earlier joy turned into disappointment as he replied with a dejected expression: "Why do you have to bring that up? Is it necessary to point out my shortcomings?"
Everyone laughed at Krillin's reaction.
Soon after, Master Roshi returned as well. Everyone exchanged greetings before sitting down to enjoy the lavish meal prepared by Launch.
John asked Krillin and Yamcha: "So how have you been training lately?"
Krillin responded: "Our morning training hasn't changed; we still deliver milk, plow fields, and run construction sites. However, the weights we carry are much heavier now—each of us is carrying 80 kilograms of turtle shells."
"In the afternoons, Yamcha and I train in the Gravity Room."
Curiously looking at John, Krillin asked: "I heard from Bulma that the idea for this Gravity Room came from you. You must be using it for training too. How many times gravity can you handle now?"
There was nothing to hide about this. John replied: "I can now move comfortably in a ten times gravity environment. How about you guys?"
"Ten times!!!" Krillin and Yamcha stared at John in shock. After their surprise wore off, they exchanged glances. Krillin chuckled nervously: "Well... we're not too far behind you! Looks like we need to work even harder!"
In reality, they were not just slightly behind; they were quite far behind. They had only recently become comfortable moving in three times gravity while struggling in four times gravity where they could barely take a few steps before exhausting themselves.
So when they learned that John could move freely in ten times gravity, both Krillin and Yamcha were thoroughly astonished.
Realizing the gap between their strengths and John's made them shift their focus toward food instead. They quickly devoured the delicious dishes on the table before planning to rush back to the Gravity Room to adapt to four times gravity as soon as possible.
Master Roshi was well aware of their training situation; he had secretly tried out the Gravity Room himself. Given his current strength level, he could barely manage three times gravity—four times was out of the question.
It became evident that his disciples' strengths had begun to surpass his own comprehensively. Originally conflicted about whether or not to participate in the 22nd World Martial Arts Tournament, hearing about John's strength solidified his decision not to join this time around.
After all, it would be too embarrassing if he couldn't even defeat one disciple—better to let his impressive image remain from the previous tournament.
"I'm done eating; I'm going to train," Krillin declared as he put down his bowl and stood up.
"Me too! I'm heading off to train!" Yamcha followed suit.
Initially thinking their strength was considerable, upon realizing how far behind they were compared to John's abilities motivated them both to work harder than ever before.
At that moment Master Roshi advised them: "Be careful! Haste makes waste; sometimes there are significant differences in talent between individuals. Just take steady steps forward."
"Don't push yourself too hard in pursuit of strength improvements that could lead to irreparable harm."
"Yes, Master!" Hearing Master Roshi's words made Krillin and Yamcha pause their hurried steps and walk out more slowly without rushing.
This is the role of a good teacher—they always remind students not to make mistakes at critical moments.
After Krillin and Yamcha left, Master Roshi looked over at John who was still eating heartily with some disdain: "John, do you have something on your mind? Or are you just here to eat me out of house and home?"
"Hehe! Master! It's been two years since I last saw you; I missed you! So I've decided I'll stay here for the next six months to take care of you," John replied with a grin.
"What do you mean staying for a year? Do you think I'm made of money? If you stay here for a year eating like this... I'll go bankrupt!" Master Roshi immediately protested.
A meal or two wouldn't be an issue; but staying for an entire year like this would be unbearable even for someone as wealthy as him!
Knowing his own appetite well enough, John pulled out a secondary card he had prepared earlier and handed it over to Master Roshi: "Master! Don't worry! I have money; I'll cover all food expenses at Kame House for this year."
Upon hearing John's assurance about covering expenses with his card, Master Roshi's eyes lit up instantly; his previously displeased expression transformed into one of happiness: "Ahh! You make it sound like I'm being stingy! From today onward stay as long as you want—money doesn't matter!"
However, despite saying that verbally, Master Roshi quickly grabbed John's bank card without hesitation.
