Chapter 59 - Chapter 32: Training in the Gravity Room

Gohan crashed into the arena like a cannonball, creating a deep pit upon impact.

Goku landed beside the pit, grinning widely as he exclaimed, "Hehe, I won! Yay, yay, yay!"

Everyone except Fortuneteller Baba cheered for Goku's victory.

Just as everyone was celebrating, a hand suddenly reached out and grabbed Goku's tail. Instantly, Goku, who had been lively and energetic, became limp and weak, hanging helplessly in Gohan's grasp.

Yamcha gasped in shock, exclaiming, "Oh no! Goku's weakness is his tail! If someone grabs it, he loses all his strength!"

"What?!" Master Roshi asked in surprise. "How come I didn't know about this weakness?"

Except for John, most people were unaware that Goku had such a vulnerability.

Gohan climbed out of the pit while holding onto Goku's tail and began slamming him back into the arena, causing Goku to scream in distress.

The sounds of "thud, thud, thud..." echoed along with Goku's cries, making Krillin, Bulma, and Yamcha feel heartbroken.

Krillin even considered conceding on Goku's behalf.

John reassured them: "Don't concede for him; Goku isn't as weak as you think. This situation is only temporary. Trust me."

Although they tried to remain optimistic, their worried gazes remained fixed on Goku, hoping for the reversal John had mentioned.

Suddenly there was a tearing sound as Goku clutched his backside and cried out in pain.

Looking at the severed tail in his hand, Gohan exclaimed: "Ah! It's broken!"

Once the pain from his severed tail subsided, Goku gritted his teeth and said angrily: "You actually pulled off my tail! That's unforgivable!"

He prepared to attack but was surprised when Gohan conceded instead. Slowly removing his mask revealed the kind face that Goku recognized all too well.

Seeing his deceased grandfather reappear before him brought tears to Goku's eyes as he joyfully yet sorrowfully rushed toward Gohan. The two embraced tightly, sharing their heartfelt emotions after years of separation.

Witnessing this touching reunion between grandfather and grandson moved everyone present.

After some casual conversation, they finally understood how the deceased Son Gohan could appear again; it turned out that Fortuneteller Baba had the ability to traverse between the living world and hell. She could bring back the dead for one day.

While Goku hoped he could live with his grandfather again, he learned that after this day they would have to part ways once more.

Although he wished to resurrect his grandfather permanently, Son Gohan refused. To him, even if he were brought back to life, there would eventually come a day when he would die again. He felt that life in hell wasn't much different from life on Earth aside from not being able to live with Goku.

Knowing that Goku had learned many skills from his former teacher and made many true friends, Son Gohan felt no worries about leaving him behind. Thus he firmly opposed any idea of resurrection.

The joyful time was short-lived; eventually, Son Gohan's day came to an end. With Fortuneteller Baba's assistance, he returned to hell once more.

Fortuneteller Baba kept her promise by helping Goku locate the last Dragon Ball; it was inside a moving purple car.

With just one Dragon Ball left to resurrect Bra, Goku took off on Flying Nimbus toward it.

John and the others chose not to follow but instead waited at Fortuneteller Baba's mansion for Goku's victorious return. Everyone had great confidence in him; no one doubted he would succeed.

Their predictions proved correct as it wasn't long before Goku returned with the final Dragon Ball in hand.

Next came the task of bringing Upa back to Karin Tower to resurrect Upa's father Bra. Since this was not a dangerous situation, everyone stayed behind.

At this moment, Yamcha approached Master Roshi hesitantly and asked: "Master Roshi, can I become your disciple and continue my martial arts training?"

Master Roshi was reluctant about taking on disciples again. After training Son Gohan and Ox-King when he was younger, he grew tired of it and expelled them from his teachings after a few years.

He only took John as a disciple because John saved his turtle; he accepted Goku due to his incredible talent; Krillin was accepted purely by chance.

Now with Yamcha wanting to become his disciple again made Master Roshi uneasy since teaching disciples is quite troublesome.

As he pondered how best to decline without hurting Yamcha's feelings, Master Roshi said: "I'm not as powerful as you think. John and Goku are strong because of their exceptional talent; they climbed Karin Tower and drank Ultra Divine Water. Even I can't match them now."

"So instead of becoming my disciple, you should learn from them and train hard..."

Just then Bulma interjected: "If you accept him as your disciple, just do it already! Stop with all the nonsense."

She then added proudly: "If you take him on as a student, I might consider visiting your Kame House more often."

Immediately swayed by her words despite having intended to refuse earlier, Master Roshi agreed: "Alright then! Yamcha, I accept you as my disciple."

This left Fortuneteller Baba astonished as she exclaimed: "Can't you change your lecherous nature?"

Master Roshi shot back: "Can you change your greedy nature?"

Fortuneteller Baba retorted: "Of course not! If I didn't love money, what meaning would my life have?"

"Likewise! My lechery and your greed are both inherent traits that can never be changed," Master Roshi declared loudly.

In the end neither could persuade the other; they both turned away in silence.

At that moment, Goku flew down on Flying Nimbus from afar.

With their objectives accomplished at Fortuneteller Baba's home fulfilled, everyone planned to resume their training in preparation for the next World Martial Arts Tournament.

However, Master Roshi addressed both Goku and John: "With your current strength levels being beyond my comprehension now... I can no longer teach you anything new. From now on you'll have to train yourselves."

"Training isn't just about staying in one place; what's more important is traveling far and wide to meet various remarkable people."

John was indifferent; he hadn't planned on training at Kame House anyway—he intended to use the Gravity Room instead.

As for Goku? He agreed with Master Roshi's words after promising not to use Flying Nimbus for three years. Together they bid farewell to Fortuneteller Baba before embarking on their three-year training journey once more—promising to reunite at the World Martial Arts Tournament three years later.
