Chapter 56 - Chapter 29: Defeating Two More 2

The Mummy Warrior, possibly weakened by the broken bandages or simply shocked, staggered back a few steps before sitting down on the ground.

"Impossible!!! How could you break my bandages?!" the Mummy Warrior questioned loudly.

John replied, "Nothing is impossible; what you think is impossible is merely a reflection of your own weakness."

He continued, "You're simply too weak. I think it's time to switch to the next opponent. Will you concede, or should I eliminate you?"

"Damn it! You think I'll concede? Not a chance!" With that, the Mummy Warrior furiously swung his fists at John.

John scoffed, "Stubborn fool!" He vanished from everyone's sight in an instant, and when they saw him again, he had already landed an elbow strike to the Mummy Warrior's abdomen.

The powerful blow caused the muscular Mummy Warrior to faint immediately.

John raised his hand, holding the unconscious warrior aloft and asked Fortuneteller Baba, "Is that enough? I won."

Fortuneteller Baba couldn't deny it and simply said, "Prepare for the next battle; I hope your performance remains this impressive."

John smiled nonchalantly and replied, "I hope I won't disappoint you." He then tossed the Mummy Warrior back toward the entrance of the devil.

Fortuneteller Baba shouted, "Come forth, Demon Warrior! Let them witness your strength."

Soon, a demon with bat wings, two horns on its head, and a sharp tail emerged from the demon's mouth.

As soon as this Demon Warrior appeared, he boasted: "Kid, I never expected you to defeat the Mummy Warrior. Impressive! But this ends here; your winning streak will be over at my hands."

John didn't respond to his taunts but instead looked at Fortuneteller Baba and said, "Grandma, your warriors may not be that strong, but they sure love to talk big."

Fortuneteller Baba smiled mysteriously and replied, "You'll find out soon enough whether it's just talk or not. But I must remind you that my Demon Warriors have never lost since they started guarding for me. I hope you can give him his first taste of defeat today."

John said, "Alright then; it seems I've overestimated your minions as well as your opponents."

"Today I'll show you that there are more experts in this world than you imagine." With that, John assumed his stance and prepared to take the initiative; he was growing weary of bullying these weaklings.

The Demon Warrior knew of John's strength and quickly took a defensive stance. However, he only felt a flash before John's figure vanished from his sight.

Suddenly feeling pain in his stomach, he realized he had been struck by that kid. The agony made him retch violently until he nearly vomited bile.

"If you can't even take one hit from me, what gives you the right to fight?" John said calmly. He then delivered an uppercut straight to the Demon Warrior's chin, knocking him backward onto the ground.

Turning to Fortuneteller Baba, John stated: "Let's switch to the fifth warrior; this one isn't up to par."

Just as Fortuneteller Baba was about to concede and call for a fifth warrior, the Demon Warrior wiped blood from his mouth and declared: "No need to switch; I still have an ultimate move left!"

Fortuneteller Baba was taken aback but quickly recalled something. "No! You can't use that move; we had an agreement!"

"Agreement? Sorry, but I'm not following that agreement today. I won't allow myself to be humiliated here without fighting back." With that declaration, the Demon Warrior soared high into the air.

Fortuneteller Baba continued to protest: "You can't use that technique! You can't kill on my territory!"

"Shut up! If you keep talking back, I'll kill you too!" the Demon Warrior shouted back at her.

"You bastard! You despicable bastard!" Fortuneteller Baba scolded angrily.

Ignoring her tirade, the Demon Warrior flew higher into the air. He knew John's speed was impressive but assumed he couldn't fly. Thus he planned to safely execute his ultimate move from above.

The Demon Warrior taunted John: "You think you're so tough? Are you brave enough to take my ultimate move?"

John knew what his ultimate move was but smiled indifferently: "What's stopping you? Go ahead and use it."

"Alright!" The Demon Warrior was thrilled. He extended two fingers from each hand towards his temples and began channeling energy. Two spheres of purple light formed at his fingertips before he shouted: "Demon Ray!"

As he yelled out his attack name, the purple light shot from his hands toward John's body, wrapping around him instantly.

Seeing his attack connect with John, the Demon Warrior laughed maniacally and explained: "Everyone has a dark side within them—like being petty or voyeuristic—though these little issues might seem harmless in daily life. However, once hit by my Demon Ray, those dark thoughts will amplify until your body bursts from evil intent!"

"So kiddo," he taunted with glee, "you're going to die!"

But soon enough, his triumphant laughter turned into panic as he cried out: "Impossible!!! How can you remain unaffected after being hit by my Demon Ray?"

John concentrated fiercely; the purple light enveloping him was compressed by his energy until it coalesced into a purple sphere in John's hand.

Turning toward the airborne Demon Warrior with a smile, John asked: "Tell me this—if you were hit by your own Demon Ray, wouldn't your dark thoughts also magnify?"

"What?!" The Demon Warrior was taken aback and confused by John's words.

But before he could comprehend further, John waved his hand and hurled that purple sphere back at him. The Demon Warrior couldn't dodge in time and was struck by his own attack.

Instantly he felt those dark thoughts within him expanding uncontrollably; pain surged through his heart as it felt like it was being stretched beyond limits. In that moment of realization, he understood how those who had been hit by his own Demon Ray must have suffered.

Finally screaming in agony: "No!!!" His body expanded until it burst apart into a cloud of purple smoke that slowly dissipated into the air.
