Chapter 41 - Chapter 14: Pirate Treasure I

Master Roshi adjusted his sunglasses and looked up at the sky, recalling his past experiences climbing Korin Tower to compete with Korin for the "Ultra Holy Water." It could be said that it was those three years of training on Korin Tower that earned him the title of God of Martial Arts.

"Why do you think I know the location of Korin Tower?" Master Roshi asked curiously.

John smiled and said, "Master Roshi, you are the God of Martial Arts! If even you don't know where Korin Tower is, then I wouldn't know who else to ask!"

Master Roshi replied, "I do know where Korin Tower is; it's located in the Sacred Land of Korin. You just need to fly north until you see a towering white tower reaching into the clouds."

"Thank you, Master Roshi! I'll head there now." With that, John boarded his plane and flew north.

Watching John fly away, Master Roshi fell into deep thought.

At this moment, Krillin asked, "Master Roshi, what exactly is Korin Tower?"

Master Roshi then explained his connection to Korin Tower. When Krillin heard that Master Roshi had trained for three years there to obtain the "Ultra Holy Water," he was taken aback.

Meanwhile, while John flew northward, he didn't go too far but chose to land on a nearby small island.

John's primary purpose for coming here was to find the location of Korin Tower, but his secondary goal was to seek out the pirate treasure near Kame House.

Over the past year, John realized that in order to thrive in the Dragon Ball world, he needed one thing: money.

Especially with John's current appetite, without a substantial fortune, he might eat his way into poverty.

John believed that his future was with Android 18, but she wasn't wealthy either, and neither was he. He knew that most of his time would be spent training in the future; he couldn't let Android 18 go out and earn money—he couldn't bear that shame.

Additionally, neither John nor Android 18 would allow themselves to borrow money from Bulma, even though she wouldn't mind helping them out.

So after the banquet following the martial arts tournament, John had been contemplating how to earn money. He even considered using a wish from Shenron to become the richest person on Earth.

However, thinking about how none of the Z fighters would ever wish for money from Shenron made him feel that if he did so, he would probably be mocked by his friends for life.

Ultimately, John abandoned the idea of wishing for wealth from Shenron but still pondered how he could acquire enough money.

Finally, when Goku bid farewell to everyone and set off to search for Dragon Balls, John remembered something important: Goku and Bulma had previously discovered a massive pirate treasure while searching for Dragon Balls near Kame House!

John could still vividly recall watching on TV as the covering stone of the treasure exploded open to reveal a vast amount of riches. He felt regretful that Goku hadn't been able to claim this treasure back then.

If Goku had been able to retrieve even part of it, Chi-Chi wouldn't have had to make Goku work! Since fate dictated that Goku wouldn't get this treasure, then let it be mine instead—if Goku needed money in the future, I could always give him some. That's what John thought.

John opened his Dragon Ball Radar and began checking for nearby Dragon Balls' locations; finding the Dragon Ball located underwater would lead him to the pirate treasure.

"Beep... Beep..." As the locations of Dragon Balls appeared on the radar, John quickly pinpointed their position. He took out a prepared small submarine capsule and tossed it into the water. With a loud "bang," a small submarine emerged on the surface nearby.

Climbing aboard the submarine, John began navigating it underwater toward the direction indicated by his radar.

The ocean surrounding Kame House was tropical; various aquatic plants covered the seabed near the island while countless brightly colored tropical fish swam happily among them.

Observing such beautiful underwater scenery made John feel relaxed. Having been in the Dragon Ball world for over a year now, he realized he hadn't yet dived into an ocean before.

The Earth in Dragon Ball was quite different from his original world; there weren't many humans here—most were concentrated in several larger cities. While there were many small towns scattered throughout rural areas, most places remained wild and uninhabited. Thus environmental protection here was particularly good; this included clean oceans with crystal-clear waters and almost no pollution.

As John continued piloting deeper into the ocean, marine life gradually diminished around him as it became darker. He turned on his searchlight and sped toward where the Dragon Ball was located.

After about ten minutes of descent, John reached above where the Dragon Ball was situated. He adjusted his radar display to show an underwater topographic map cross-section.

Sure enough, near where the Dragon Ball was located appeared a large cross-section of an underwater cave. Continuing forward in his submarine toward the cave entrance,

After navigating around dark underwater cliffs, John's submarine arrived at what seemed like the entrance to pirate treasure.

Proceeding deeper into this cave with his submarine as it shrank further inside after passing through an extremely narrow entrance; soon it leaped out above sea level—indicating that this cave's interior was actually above sea level!

John jumped from his submarine into the water and pressed a button on it causing it to revert back into capsule form before storing it away in its capsule box.

He began walking deeper into the cave; shortly after entering he noticed many hanging lights illuminating above him along its long ceiling.

Seeing these lights confirmed that he had indeed found what he was looking for—the pirate treasure lay deep within this cave!

As John continued forward, he arrived at a square-shaped long corridor.

He thought for a moment; this place seemed like a trap set by pirates—if someone stepped on certain mechanisms in this corridor's floor, arrows would shoot out from wall openings aimed at intruders!

Testing one mechanism with his hand by pressing down lightly on it caused an arrow to shoot out rapidly from a small hole in one wall and embed itself deeply into another wall across from it.

"I remember! Didn't Goku just jump over this?" John recalled from what he had seen before.
