I glance at her, narrowing my eyes. "What are you doing with Xavier?" I ask, my voice dropping.
She sighs, setting her glass aside. "Helping him, obviously. What do you think I'm doing? He says he wants to be seen, to stop hiding in Xaden's shadow. Whatever Xavier's plans are, I'll make sure he doesn't die. That's my promise."
"... What are we gonna do without you?" I ask softly.
"Get killed by different people, probably," she deadpans. Then, her tone shifts, sharp as ever. "Oh, this fucking bitch is laughing at us. I would fucking fuck her face up with my dear heel. Oh! Do you see the diamonds?" She points at her mask. "They're real and rare. Guess who gave it to me?"
