Chapter 9 - THE BEGINNING OF THE GROWING FORCE

Fer calmed his emotions by leaving the mods interface. He stepped out of the blue interface and stood up from the edge of the beach, half of his body soaked by the cold seawater, but Fer ignored this to check his inventory again.

Fer focused on the experience bar above his stats. After everything that had happened the previous day, the experience bar was filled with a yellow color that flashed every second, and it had a number right next to it: a 7.

The experience bar was at 237/190, meaning there was enough experience to level up seven full levels. That meant he had seven points to spend on his stats.

Fer already knew which stat to increase first: movement speed. Movement speed was probably the best lifesaver anyone could have; if you can't defeat your enemy, just run like the wind until the enemy is out of sight.

With that in mind, Fer added a point to the speed stat. The speed went from the original 100% to 200% after adding the point, and Fer felt a warm and cold current simultaneously flow through his entire body. The warmth focused mainly on his muscular legs, while the other part of the warmth spread throughout his body.

Two minutes after adding the point, Fer finally felt a sense of freedom he had never experienced before in his life. He felt as if his body could move incredibly fast, and although he hadn't run with his legs yet, Fer already felt that he could be faster than the fastest person on Earth, Usain Bolt.

But he didn't rush to test his newly increased speed, as he still had six more points to add to his stats.

Fer carefully thought about which stat to increase next, weighing the advantages and disadvantages. After a few minutes of thought, he added two points directly to fortitude.

Fortitude, in his current situation, was very useful for multiple reasons. First, fortitude increased resistance to temperatures and climates, prevented unconsciousness from any poisons, and also offered protection against external diseases like rabies.

Fortitude increased from 0.0 to 20.0, with each point adding 10 points of fortitude. Immediately after increasing fortitude, Fer felt the overwhelming heat of the surroundings greatly diminish, and the cold seawater at his feet turned into lukewarm water, neither cold nor hot.

The effects of fortitude were almost instant. As he felt the familiar current flow through every inch of his body, Fer even had a slight illusion that his skin gleamed with a transparent layer that reflected a bit of sunlight.

Involuntarily, Fer rubbed his arm to check if something had changed, but as expected, it was just an illusion brought on by the fortitude increase from the points.

He still had four points left to add to his stats, and the next attribute Fer increased was two points to health and two points to energy. His personal stats underwent a significant change compared to before he added the points.

Name: FER

LEVEL: 7

EXPERIENCE: 238/270

HEALTH: 101/300

ENERGY: 289/300

OXYGEN: 100/100

FOOD: 19/100

WATER: 100/100

WEIGHT: 0/100

MELEE DAMAGE: 100%

MOVEMENT SPEED: 200%

CRAFTING SPEED: 100%

FORTITUDE: 20.0

TORPOR: 200/200

Fer looked at his current stats with satisfaction. The tenfold increase was quite terrifying. You should know that with just these few points added, some of these stats were already exceeding level 100. He imagined how strong he would become when he reached level 100.

But let's not forget the infinite level mod, and the fact that the upper limit can be increased tenfold as long as the necessary conditions are met.

Additionally, after leveling up, 48 engram points were also added, meaning he could learn things that were previously locked.

Fer mentally clicked the tab that looked like three pentagons arranged in a pyramid. Instantly, rows of various items he could learn with engram points appeared.

Level 1: Stone pick (0), torch (0).

Level 2: Campfire (3), stone hatchet (3), note (3), spear (3), cloth pants (3), cloth shirt (3), thatch foundation (3), thatch doorframe (3).

Level 3: Wooden club (3), waterskin (3), cloth boots (3), cloth hat (3), cloth gloves (3), wooden sign (3), sleeping bag (3), thatch roof (3), thatch door (3).

Level 5: Slingshot (6), small storage box (6), bed (8), phiomia saddle (6), mortar (6), sparkpowder (3), blood extraction syringe (6), narcotics (6), brush (3), single flag (6), double flag (6), standing torch (6), sloped wall right (3), sloped wall left (3), wooden foundation (6), wooden wall (7).

Fer scanned through all the items available at his current level of 7. Unfortunately, there wasn't much that was too useful for his current situation. However, not everything was useless to him.

He could learn the cloth armor, which, although it didn't provide much protection, at least gave him the feeling of having clothes on. He could also learn narcotics, the stone hatchet, the spear, the mortar, and the small storage box, among other things.

Currently, he had 48 engram points. The first thing he learned was the stone hatchet, which cost three points, leaving him with 45 points. The next things he learned were the campfire, the spear, the narcotic, the mortar, and all the cloth armor pieces.

After all that, he only had a measly 6 engram points left.

Suddenly, Fer felt a sense of emptiness in his stomach, and he realized that he had almost exhausted all the berries in his inventory. Not only that, but the raw meat had spoiled, turning into rotten meat, and most of the berries had either disappeared into Fer's stomach or expired.

His food bar was down to 15 points, and Fer quickly broke one of the wooden stakes in the direction of the forest. He wanted to test his newly increased speed, and with one step, it was as if he had taken three steps.

ZASS! ZASS! ZASS!

In just five seconds of sprinting, he reached the front of the plants and trees.

"WOW!" Fer shouted in excitement as he stopped running. The sensation of wind rushing past his face and the much faster speed than before was incredibly refreshing to experience for the first time.

"It seems I've surpassed the fastest person on Earth. If I keep increasing my speed, I don't know what will happen," Fer thought as he reached out and picked berries from a plant.

After satisfying his hunger for a while, Fer ran in a zig-zag pattern to adjust to his newly increased speed. He ran for 15 minutes non-stop, and with his energy increased to 300, it wasn't a problem to run for several minutes without stopping. The energy spent on running recovered in just a few seconds.

However, as his energy recovered, the demand for food and water greatly increased, as energy had tripled compared to before. For now, although the demand for food and water had increased, it wasn't yet a burden.

In the near future, Fer would need to increase his food and water stats along with energy, so they would be balanced and not deplete so quickly when recovering from exhaustion.

Fer had no choice but to start eating berries. While berries were easy to gather with little effort, they had quite a few drawbacks, such as not filling the food bar much and taking a long time to do so compared to cooked meat.

So, in the not-too-distant future, Fer would switch to eating cooked meat. He hadn't yet tasted cooked meat, and just thinking about it made his mouth water.

But before anything else, now that he had completed the requirements of the available mods, it was time to establish a base to shelter from the outside world.

"Hmm, where should I set up my base?" Fer thought with a pensive expression, wondering where to settle on this island full of dangerous dinosaurs.

Fer thought for a long time, and his previously downcast eyes lit up as if he had thought of something incredible.

"I know! The only peaceful place on this island is Herbivore Island. If I can set up my base there, I won't have to worry about the carnivorous dinosaurs of the island, meaning I'll be completely safe from danger," Fer thought enthusiastically.

You should know that no hostile dinosaurs appear on Herbivore Island. The only ones that could potentially be dangerous are the Triceratops and Brontosaurus, but as long as you don't attack them actively, they practically won't attack you unless provoked.

"Oh! Now that I remember, I haven't checked the map to see my current location," Fer thought, and with that thought, a sandy-colored cloth map with a drawing appeared before his eyes.

But unfortunately, the map was blank except for the exact spot where Fer was standing. The map only showed a small circular radius around a light blue arrow.

As someone who had played over 1,000 hours, Fer didn't panic in the slightest. With just that small uncovered area, he already knew exactly where he was.
