After she finished yelling, she stood there panting heavily, but her gaze toward him was full of hostility and caution, as if she had turned into a little hedgehog, bristling with spikes. He couldn't help but soften his tone.
"Who told you we got divorced?"
Bonnie was deeply disgusted by his blatant lies. It was obviously he who had proposed the divorce, and she had already signed the papers. Yet, here he was, asking who told her they were divorced.
She wiped the tears from her face with a hand and stubbornly said,
"Sorry, I'll leave first. I have nothing to discuss with you!"
Then she turned to leave.
"Bonnie!"
He called her name painfully, then reached out to grab her.
"I didn't sign that divorce agreement!"
"What did you say?"
Bonnie turned around in shock and demanded an explanation.
James quietly tightened his grip on her arm, his face slightly uneasy, but he steeled himself and spoke up.
