As soon as Bonnie returned to the meeting room, she was met with all kinds of scrutinizing glances—some were snickering in amusement, others full of resentment, some were calm, and some were envious.
Behind her, James walked in expressionlessly and sat in the main seat. Bonnie cleared her throat and began to lead the meeting. Several times, she felt unwell, but she stubbornly held it together, not allowing him to see any weakness.
As soon as the meeting ended, James stood up without looking back and walked out. Throughout the entire time, he didn't even spare her a glance. Bonnie stayed seated, sorting through the materials, when Anna sauntered over, intentionally speaking loudly.
Bonnie, who's that handsome guy who dropped you off at work this morning? I heard... you two are living together now?
