Actually, after this outing, the atmosphere between the two had become much more harmonious. After all, bringing a child out to play inevitably required various forms of communication. Even though Cynthia had resolved not to speak to him, she had no choice but to compromise when it came to matters concerning Olive.
Both of them could sense the improved atmosphere, but neither said it aloud. Albert kept quiet because he was too overjoyed, fearing that once he opened his mouth, he wouldn't be able to hide his smugness. Cynthia, on the other hand, didn't say anything because she was furious with herself for getting along with him so well!
After thinking for a long time, Olive finally declared,
"I want to eat egg rolls!"
Cynthia smiled fondly, her brows arching with affection.
"Sure, shall we go back and make some now?"
"Yes, yes!" Olive nodded vigorously. Egg rolls were her favorite, and just imagining their soft texture made her mouth water.
