After Lucca finished speaking, she laughed triumphantly, tears streaming down her face. Albert didn't think twice before grabbing her and heading toward the door. Lucca struggled violently.
"What are you doing?"
He gritted his teeth and replied:
"Going to the police station!"
Lucca sneered and shook off his grip.
"Albert, what good is sending me to the police station? Do you have any evidence? What evidence do you have to prove that I was the one behind what happened to Maureen?"
Her words immediately made Albert stop in his tracks. She was right—there was no evidence. Everything they had was based purely on their understanding of her and their assumptions.
He was shaking with anger, pointing at her with fury.
"Lucca, just wait. This is a matter of life and death. If the police investigate and find out, no one will be able to save you. Just wait to spend the rest of your life in prison!"
