Cynthia thought he wouldn't be able to make it back from his business trip. Seeing his travel-worn appearance, it was clear he had rushed back right after landing. A sense of sweetness filled her heart, and she looked at him with a gentle smile.
Albert Wilson had initially felt a bit annoyed. She had forgotten their special day and hadn't even sent him a single reminder text. And yet, he had been working himself to the bone overseas just to make sure he could spend this day with her.
But now, seeing her nestled quietly in his arms, smiling softly, his exhaustion and frustration melted away. All he said was a calm instruction to Jim in the front seat:
"Drive."
Back home, after taking a shower, he wanted to cuddle and get intimate with her. But after traveling overnight and being utterly drained, he ended up falling into a deep sleep while holding her. She had no choice but to join him for a nap.
