Kapri pushed herself up onto her feet, her trench coat heavy with ash and snow while the wind bit at her cheeks. Her fingers flexed as she brushed against the sigil near the back of her neck. The hilt of her sword hummed with eagerness beneath her palm. It whispered promises of carnage, seductive and insistent as it coaxed to unsheathe it. A grin spread across her face, unbidden. It almost always scared her how she thrived in moments like these--raw, brutal, unpredictable. Sometimes she almost enjoyed being thrown into these situations she hated her demon lords for.
Countess Lirael descended; she landed in the snow with a soft thud as wind from her wings blew Kapri's braids from her face. Her moth-like wings folded neatly behind her as she straightened with her movements exuding a predatory elegance. Even in the dim light of the moon in its drifting phase, Kapri could tell behind the body that she genuine planned to make Kapri a prey. Though her skin not as pale and her hair not as white, she very much knew a demoness inhabited that vessel. The countess's lips curled into a smirk, her sharp fangs glinting. The snow melted beneath her every step, the heat radiating off her form reminiscent of the Donn burning through her body in fury.
"You're remarkably calm for someone who was just hurled through a wall," Countess Lirael said, her voice smooth and biting as it slices through the icy stillness. She stepped closer as she sized Kapri up with her silver gaze. "But then again, you're not exactly ordinary, so they say."
Kapri dusted the snow from her shoulders with a casualness that seemed dismissive towards the demoness's presence. "Well, don't mistake me for being at my best," Kapri replied in a mocking tone. "Don't tell me that frightens you."
"Oh, I'm not mistaken," she answered Kapri, as she was now just a few paces away as her smirk widened. "You're still just a low valued human, after all. That's why the middleworld had no problem giving you to the underworld when you became a problem."
Kapri let out an amused exhale, because what she said was true. Then again, she was a problem for a reason.
In a sudden motion, the countess reached out, her hand gripping Kapri's neck with a deceptive strength compared to her physique. Kapri didn't flinch as she felt her nails dig into her skin, with a quick flash of steel, almost like her sword teleported, it moved with a clean, brutal stroke. The countess's hand was severed at the wrist before she had replied, and blood sprayed in a violent arc against Kapri's shoulder.
Countess Lirael's eyes widened in surprise as her dismembered hand slid from Kapri's neck at her feet, and it left a purple bruise. The hand twitched on the ground before it still, and Countess Lirael's eyes flickered to the stump at her wrist. When Kapri finally locked eyes with her, she quickly jumped back a few hundred feet.
"You see what you did?" Kapri said calmly as she grabbed her sword and lifted it up after lodging it a little into her own shoulder. She watched as her own blood mixed with Countess Lirael's on the humming blade. "You pissed me off so much, you made me cut myself."
Countess Lirael's wings flared with agitation, but she quickly regained her composure. Though, her faltered smirk remained tight because she currently had so much damage, even if the pouring blood was stopped as her wound began to heal."
"You little bitch, don't get cocky," she began, but Kapri cut her off, stepping forward with deliberate calm, her sword raised and her grin widening. "I raised your Lord Dazriel, who bred you."
"You wanted a fight, and I wanted to fight," Kapri said as she dropped her trench coat from her shoulder. "Don't pout because you bleed so well, Countess Lirael."
Without warning, Countess Lirael raised her hand, and a portal, it gave the same air of Donn as those dimensions that were thrown through when fighting the Librarian. Suddenly, jagged shards of rocked erupted from them. They spiraled towards Kapri, but she didn't move. Honestly, she was too angry to jump and hop around and joke like before. She raised her sword and cleaved through the first shard and sliced through the next, and her foot swung up and hammered into another seeming to surprise the countess that her strength alone could do that. It splintered mid-air.
The countess hissed as her wings flared with renewed fury, but Kapri was already upon her. Without missing a beat, she launched herself forward, with sword arcing through the air in a brutal downward strike. The blade crackled with unearthly energy as it slammed into the ground where the countess had just stood with a shockwave reverberating through the snow.
Countess Lirael disappeared in a flicker as her wings beat to propel her into the air. She hovered above the battlefield, with her gaze fixated on Kapri. The air around her Countess Lirael warped as a portal ripped open beside her, from which she pulled out a jagged obsidian blade. She slashed at the air, and the reality itself seemed to tear, a jagged rift appearing and slicing through the space between them. It fixed itself almost immediately, but not before Lirael hurled several chunks of shattered ice and stone from the surrounding environment straight at Kapri.
Kapri dashed forward, ducking and weaving between projectiles. Her fists pummeled the air, each punch propelling her forward with unnatural speed. Her fists pummeled through the air, each punch a thundering strike that sent her forward with unnatural speed. She reached the first stone shard, her hand slamming into it with the precision of a trained fighter. The force of her blow shattered the stone into dust. Her sword swung again, cutting through another icy shard with ease, its edge slicing through the air with a deadly hum.
Countess Lirael refused to come down as she projected projectiles as Kapri which she kept slicing through. Almost as if she was trying to tire Kapri, but Kapri always been quite relentless.
"You're a tool, nothing more," Countess Lirael spat, her voice laced with venom, each word dripping with contempt. Her wings unfurled behind her, dark and imposing, their edges crackling with a faint energy of Donn. Her eyes locked onto Kapri, burning with an intensity that could melt stone. "Did you really think I would let a petty human survive so long after you walked around like you own the castle and fucked my lover?"
Kapri's grin remained unbroken. "A tool? Sounds like projection to me," she shot back with a light voice. "But hey, I get it. You're bitter because Lord Dazriel escaped your clutches. That counts as rejection to you, and it left a mark." Her words cut through the bitter cold as she taunted the countess as if they were old enemies sharing a private joke. "And don't genuinely tell me you're hurt I fucked a demon without noble blood and he's low ranked demon who you had to get to pretend to be your brother-husband. Are you always this easily fucked by pre-pubescent males?"
Lirael's expression twisted into a sneer as her wings snapping open wide in an explosion of raw power. Her fury shook the very air causing the snow beneath her feet to melt into steam while she crashed into the snow. The ground trembled as she gathered her Donn. "Don't you dare speak his name so casually in my presence?" she hissed. "Insolent woman! Speak like your place not above what you don't understand!"
"That got you hot? Then you don't want to know what's driving me to want to kill you," Kapri chuckled aloud. "And it's not over Velmuth."
Lirael's wings beat hard as she ascended, soaring higher into the frigid night sky with her body vanishing into another portal. It opened behind her, and a barrage of twisted missiles erupted from the rift, and she hurled them toward Kapri with terrifying speed. Luckily, Kapri was faster, because she would not have survived slicing through that. She launched herself into a roll with the snow flying in every direction and the entire county shaking like an earthquake as the missle left craters where Kapri stood. Kapri planted her sword in the ground as she stood on its hilt and launched herself in the air, before she opened another portal.
With a flash, Kapri was in the air and she grabbed the Countess by the neck and pushed her wings closed with her legs as she held the Countess into a chokehold, while they flew towards the Earth. The Countess screamed as she clawed at her arms trying pry it from her throat before they crashed into one of the craters created by the missiles. Kapri rolled on her back with the Countess over her while the Countess opened a portal underneath them.
"You're not getting away!" Kapri yelled as she grabbed Countess's obsidian blade and pinned one of her wings into the ground. They feel through the portal, but the blade kept Countess Lirael from falling and Kapri still held on to her neck as she dangled above the dimension where the waterfall was, but it had been completely destroyed.
Kapri threw blows into her face, as the Countess try to pry her fingers lose. This caused the Countess face to swell as she weakly still tries to pull her hand away, until they were both pulled up out the portal. They were both tossed onto the ground, before she looked and saw Count Lirael, or Velmuth, taking the blade out of her wing. Countess Lirael hissed, her wings thrashing violently as she opened them and quickly flew up again.
Just as she was going to open another rift. She heard two whistling noises, and two bullets blew her hands into smithereens. The countess screamed out in agony as Kapri looked up at her, knowing it came from Jiron, but she didn't look in his direction so no one would go after where he was hiding.
"Kaprice!" Velmuth, yelled at her as she grabbed her by her shoulders. "Stop this."
Countess Lirael was losing ground, her body battered and her control over the portals slipping as Kapri's relentless assault continued. "You know, taking up for her is making me jealous. I want to kill her even more."
"Before she could reach for her sword, she heard the familiar beating of Lord Dazriel's Donn. They both turned their head to see a grotesque, humanoid creature that had the white hair, the pale skin, and the silver eyes of Countess Lirael's original body. Except the body was emitting pure Ku, that sent chills down Kapri's spine as she recalled her last battle.
A burburu," Kapri whispered. She could hear the other half of Lord Dazriel's heart in it. Yet, it could not warm its body.
"Get back, go back where you came from!" Velmuth ran toward it in a desperate plea. "Please."
The creature cried out seeing Countess Lirael was injured, and it glared at Kapri. Kapri smirked as she tossed her head back in laughter. "Oh my gods, I've been looking for you everywhere. No way, you demons are this fucking stupid, you think Lord Dazriel's SE can fix your weak as body you allowed to cross the point of no return? Is this what this was all about?" Kapri laughed out as she planted her sword into the ground.
Countess Lirael scowled at her laughter. "Silence. You have no idea what you're talking about." Her voice dripped with venom. "A demon can do that—beyond what a human can."
"A demon cannot reverse burburism," Kapri said as she looked at her. "You diminish your own body to nothing, let your county run to shit, and let a low ranking demon pretend to be your brother just because you couldn't get over man—-no a child who you had to trick into loving you!"
"I did not su—"
"Don't lie," Kapri said as her eyes widened her pupils quivered in anger. "And the worst of it, Count Lirael continue to trick you in hopes he could save whatever this mess is. 'Next time my Lady, Next time my Lady. We'll fix your body next time. Here's a body of a lower ranked demon maid."
"'Here a body of a human woman,'" Countess Lirael said and Kapri smile faltered as she pondered.
Then she looked back at Count Lirael, Velmuth, who cowered at the anger in Kapri's eyes. The intimacy pact made her unable to control the softening in her eyes when she looked at him. "You're quite the actor, Velmuth. Really made me think you were a powerful count for quite a while. Luckily, for you the intimacy pact diminish my will to kill you. Congrats."
"But this bitch," she looked at Countess Lirael. "You want my body? Take it, bitch."
"We will," Countess Lirael said before the grotesque burburu that used to be Countess Lirael roared as it stepped closer to Kapri.
"I see," Kapri said. "None of you better jump in!"
She said noticing Kavi, Nyxith, and Jiron getting closer to the field where they found themselves pulled back into the snowy ash filled terrain.
"Because everything I'm seeing. I'm cutting down," she grabbed her sword it hummed in anticipation. "And I put that on Demon Lord Ose of the Garoth Empire."
