Chapter 34 - It's not Polite to steal Someone else's Godson

As the figure descended, more details came into view.

A hoodie and casual pants, hands tucked into his pockets, his face half-hidden by reflective sunglasses. But the most distinctive feature was his snow-white hair.

When he landed softly in front of Ryosuke and Yuki, it felt as if the world itself was holding its breath. Ryosuke felt his heart pounding wildly, his eyes wide with admiration and disbelief. This couldn't be… and yet, it was. He recognized the man instantly.

Satoru Gojo, the legendary jujutsu sorcerer, stood before him. Ryosuke had seen him in unforgettable moments—epic scenes, battles where he seemed to defy the impossible. And now, he was just a few steps away, with that relaxed, almost careless demeanor that made it seem like nothing could faze him.

Satoru first fixed his gaze on Ryosuke, remaining silent, a faint smile at the corner of his lips. Then he turned to Yuki, who was staring at him with a mix of defiance and annoyance. She crossed her arms, her eyes glinting with a nearly aggressive spark.

"So, you come back to the country without notifying anyone, Miss Tsukumo?" Gojo asked, amusement in his voice.

Yuki gritted her teeth, her expression hardening with a trace of irritation.

"I don't answer to anyone, least of all you," she replied curtly, her voice sharp.

Satoru shrugged slightly, as if her words hadn't affected him in the slightest, and took a few steps toward Ryosuke. The young man felt his heartbeat quicken even more, his throat tightening with excitement and nerves. This was surreal. To see Satoru Gojo—his idol—in person…

Since he had regained memories of his past life, he'd spent countless hours imagining encounters like this, but none had felt as vivid as the one he was now experiencing. It was like stepping into a waking dream.

Satoru leaned slightly towards Ryosuke, a mysterious smile playing on his lips. Then, as if for dramatic effect, he slowly lowered his sunglasses. Behind the opaque lenses, Ryosuke caught a glimpse of his piercing blue irises, shining like shards of ice.

"The Six Eyes!"

"Well, I finally found you," Satoru murmured, putting his sunglasses back on with a casual gesture, the smile still on his face.

Ryosuke swallowed hard, his breath caught. "Finally found me"? What did he mean by that? Could it be that Satoru Gojo was here specifically for him? The thought stirred a mix of pride and apprehension, but also raised countless questions.

He didn't have time to organize his thoughts, however, as Yuki abruptly stepped between them, brushing away Gojo's hand that had casually rested on her nephew's shoulder.

"He's my nephew," she said sharply, a hint of reproach in her tone. "What do you want with him, Satoru?"

Satoru raised a hand as if in apology, though the spark of amusement in his eyes remained. He let out a light chuckle before turning his attention back to Ryosuke.

"Oh, of course, of course," he replied in a mock-innocent tone. "But you see," he added, pointing at Ryosuke, "he's been under investigation… for the past month."

Yuki's expression hardened, her eyebrows knitting together in deep suspicion.

"An investigation?" she repeated, her eyes narrowing. "Where's that coming from?"

Satoru shrugged, still relaxed.

"Orders from above," he explained in a cheerful voice.

Yuki let out a short, almost bitter laugh.

"Since when do you follow orders?"

Gojo responded with silence, but his mischievous smile said it all. Then he turned his focus back to Ryosuke, regarding him with newfound intensity.

"Tell me," he began, "the Ume Hospital… it rings a bell, doesn't it?"

Ryosuke felt a chill run down his spine. The Ume Hospital…

Yes, he remembered. His thoughts swirled, and a question grew in his mind. What did Satoru Gojo know about him, and why the sudden interest?

He'd imagined his battle with the curse at the hospital might attract attention, but the idea that Satoru Gojo—the most powerful sorcerer he'd ever admired—stood here for that reason was unfathomable.

This had to be a coincidence… or maybe Satoru was acting on his own. Who could really give him orders? Ryosuke doubted it.

He glanced at his aunt, uncertain. "Tell me, Auntie… do you really know this guy?"

Yuki rolled her eyes and shrugged with a sigh of exasperation. "Yes. He's the narcissistic guy I told you about earlier."

Ryosuke then looked back at Satoru. "So… it's really you, the most powerful jujutsu sorcerer?"

Satoru smirked. He turned to Yuki, a look of feigned surprise on his face. "Well, Miss Tsukumo, I didn't know you had such a high opinion of me. It's flattering."

Yuki's face darkened instantly, and she frowned visibly annoyed. In a swift motion, she gave her nephew a light smack on the back of the head, prompting a surprised yelp from him as he rubbed his head with a disgruntled expression.

"Stop showing off!" she snapped. "I'm asking you to talk seriously about this hospital business. Right now, and without dodging."

Ryosuke lowered his head slightly, feeling a hint of warmth in his cheeks. Under his aunt's piercing gaze, he mumbled in a barely audible voice, "I… I didn't do anything. The curse I was fighting that day, it's the one that caused all the trouble."

Amusement gleamed in Satoru's eyes as he exchanged a knowing look with Yuki. "Easy, Miss Tsukumo. Don't be too hard on him. He's just a young sorcerer, after all." Then, with a casual gesture, he approached Ryosuke, looking both kindly and intrigued. "That said… my boy, the cursed energy detected at the hospital seems to have largely… come from you."
