You...you gotta be shitting me...
One second a drunk (vampire?) was biting me, the next, I was in a line. People jept looking around as I did.
But it was impossible to see anything... it was like forgetting what everything look like the second I saw it.
This freaky shit is messing with my brain...Where the fuck am I anyway? And when the hell am I waiting for?
I leaned to the side. The line was impossibly long. People streched all the way down...wherever this was. I couldn't tell.
"Hey, you. What are we waiting in line for?"
The man in front of me just shrugged.
"Ahh. Fuck."
Wait. Wait!
There was a figure walking alongside of the line, coming this way. I could slowly make out their features.
A female...red skin? A tail? Horns!?
She stopped when she reached me. She has omnimous golden eyes, dark hair pulled up in a ponytail. She was wearing a uniform. A black skirt and a white blouse with a bow on the collar.
"What the fuck...?" I murmured.
"Welcome to Hell. The devil wants to see you personally." She says monotonously and barely even looks up from her clipboard.
I'd very much like to punch this lady.
"Er....okay....?"
She immediately turns and walks. I guess I'm supposed to follow? I follow her. I stuble a few times.
Why is she walking so damn fast? Also: the devil? Is she a demon? This is Hell?
Time is murky. We get there before I know it. By 'there' I mean a megestic red door. Deep red, with inscriptions all over it there's one that's bigger than the others... I squint.
Does that say....Davina?
That's my freaking name. My freaking name.
I swear, this is some cursed shit. Oh wait, it's Hell. Of course everything is fucked.
The doors open with a loud graon. I definitely don't want to go back in there.
Didn't she say the devil asked for me himself? Fuck this. Where's the damn line at?
The woman...er, demon, probably sensing my panic, grabs ahold of my arm and pulls me inside. It's darker in here. There's a single desk with a man...demon sitting there. Red skin, horns, a tail but also short, black hair, glasses, a grey suit.
What the hell? The devil works st a
...desk? That can't be him...
The man looks up and smiles. "I've been expecting you." The smile is...kind and sincere. "Yes, yes I know. You were expecting something like the embodiment of evil, right?"
I nod. I'm speechless....
"That's sadly incorrect. My soul purpose is to run Hell. Y'know, make sure thing go smoothly. See too it that souls are punished correctly and rule over the demon underworld. Anyway, welcome to The Magni Inter. Basically, where you get assigned."
"Asigned to what?" I snatch my hand from the female demon. Her grip on me was getting tight.
"Ah, that. I was getting there; that's exactly why I sent for you." I rests his head on his hand. He moves some papers around wity the other hand, looking at them. I notice his nails are painted black. Glossy black.
You completely avoided my question...smooth. But I won't be deterred.
"So what's my assignment?" I cross my arms uncomfortably.
"Well, you don't have one. You're my soulmate, you see. Your human, but after dying over and over again, reincarnating yourself each time, one begins to wonder. A curious predicament. I knew, but didn't interfere. I kept waiting for you to find me in one of your lives. I'm afraid I've grown impatient after the last hundred thousand or so years. So now there'sa choice to be made. Let you keep reincarnating yourself or turn you into a demon?" I watch his tail swing slowly back and forth as he talks.
Soulmate? Of the devil? What the hell type of shit is fucking with my damn life- er death! Fuck this damned crappy shit called Hell! Demon-turning? Ah, I give up. Whatever strong-ass drugs I'm on...they'd better have been a good price.
He laughs. "I'm sorry. I can read your thoughts." He quickly composes himself. "So would you agree to becoming a demon?" The devil himself stands and holds his hand out.
"Isn't there another option? Like reincarnation, but with knowledge of my past life?"
"Hmmm. That could work. But, only if I can reincarnate you as a demon."
I hold my hand out. "Deal."
