Jason stood over the lifeless eagle, its wings sprawled out, the feathers shimmering like something out of a nightmare. He couldn't help but feel a little proud—he'd taken down a creature the size of a car, and with nothing more than a wind-coated stick. But pride didn't last long in a world like this. His stomach growled, reminding him of the more immediate problem: food.
"Guess you're dinner," Jason muttered, hoisting the massive bird's body over his shoulder.
The forest around him grew darker, the once-faint hum of strange creatures now becoming a symphony of unsettling noises. Jason moved quickly, looking for a place to camp before things lurking in the shadows decided to test their luck. He found a small clearing, surrounded by thick trees and bushes—good cover, at least for tonight.
He dropped the eagle's body, wiped the sweat from his brow, and got to work. Using his wind abilities, Jason gathered dry branches without much effort, cutting them down to the right size with a few sharp slashes of air. He arranged them into a neat pile and, with a quick gust, sparked a fire. The flames roared to life, casting a warm orange glow over the clearing.
Jason smirked, "Easy enough."
He set to cleaning the eagle, carving strips of meat with precision. Its flesh was tougher than he expected, but his wind-powered cuts made quick work of it. Soon, thick chunks of meat were roasting over the fire, sizzling as they cooked. The smell filled the air, and Jason's stomach growled louder than ever.
He took his first bite, and immediately something felt… different. The meat was rich, unlike anything he'd tasted before, almost electric. As he chewed, he felt a surge of energy rush through his body, like every muscle was waking up, growing stronger with each mouthful.
"Whoa… what is this stuff?" he mumbled between bites, devouring the eagle meat with newfound hunger. Each bite made him feel more alive, more powerful. By the time he finished the meal, he could feel his senses sharper than ever. It was like the creature's strength had become his own.
Just as Jason was getting comfortable by the fire, he heard it—someone screaming.
"Help! Someone, please help!"
Jason tensed, every instinct telling him to ignore it. But his gut wouldn't let him. Grabbing a thick branch, he coated it in wind energy, the invisible blade humming with power as he dashed toward the sound.
He reached a small clearing and froze. A man, bloodied and bruised, was lying on the ground, while another guy stood over him, fist raised, ready to strike again. The attacker snarled, throwing another brutal punch into the downed man's face.
Jason's eyes narrowed. He didn't have time for this kind of savagery, not here.
"Hey!" Jason yelled, catching the guy's attention.
The attacker turned, sneering. Without warning, Jason swung the wind-coated branch, sending a razor-sharp slash through the air. The guy jumped at the last second, but Jason's aim was true—he didn't miss entirely. The man let out a scream as his leg was cleanly sliced off at the knee, sending him crashing to the ground.
"You little—I'm gonna kill you!" the attacker screamed, clutching his severed leg. His face twisted in rage as blood poured from the wound. He closed his eyes, his body shaking, and Jason's senses told him that the guy wasn't finished yet. Despite his injury, he wasn't dying.
Jason marched toward him, wind blade still in hand, but stopped just short, watching the man for a moment. He wasn't sure what kind of powers this guy had, but he knew better than to drop his guard. Still, the man's focus seemed to waver as blood loss weakened him.
Jason turned his attention to the boy who had been beaten up. The kid, barely older than Jason himself, was trembling, his face swollen and bleeding.
"Why was he beating you up?" Jason asked, keeping his eyes on the boy.
The boy looked Jason in his eyes before saying n n no reason he and his freinds always bullied me when they are stress, oh Jason said as he turned and start to walk off wait on Jason heard the boy said before he ran up to him. The boy looked at his savior and asked him what is your name Jason the man said as he continued walking my name is Lucas can I follow you.
Out here is very dangerous and I don't know where to go sure you can come Jason said as he continued walking reaching back his campfire as Jason just sat down as he Lucas just talk through out the night none of them wanting to go and sleep by as they continue branches in the fire to keep it going when they saw the sun was rising again they heard something like a wolf howling, when the both of them heard it Jason look at Lucas and told him get ready I'm moving.
Where are you going Lucas asked, I don't know just traveling around Jason said.
1 hour later after walking they they saw a small cave Jason went in there to look it was probably 10 feet in length and 5 in width, Jason look at Lucas and said I am staying here for a while I'm going to go and look some food he said as Lucas closely followed him reaching a river they looked inside it and saw fishes swimming around and as Jason looked closer he saw a sword and he took it out it wasn't in the best of condition but it could be used a little more.
He took up a branch and channel wind magic in it and threw it killing it as as the other fishes ran away, going to pick it up Jason saw that the fish was kinda big so this will be enough for him and Lucas just as they took it out they heard a growl behind them turning around they saw a bear but it wasn't no ordinary bear this one look special it was brown with a red drawing of a tree on his forehead as he he growl at Jason and Lucas sending them flying backword.
