Martin felt bad hearing Don Gardner's words; maybe he was a coward, but after his conversation with Cedric, he felt he couldn't face Odelia without her realizing there was something wrong with him, so he had not even gone into her room to check up on her.
"Which hospital are you taking her to? I'll come with you," Martin said to the man who was already by the door and had used his one hand to open the door whilst she was still in his arms. Don Gardner ignored him this time and left with Odelia.

"Why isn't she still awake?" Don Gardner asked the doctor. Odelia was admitted about two hours ago, and the doctors attended to her, but she was still sleeping. But even in her unconscious state, she still held his finger in a strong grip, refusing to let go.
That was what she did after Don Gardner had gently placed her on the hospital bed; she had held his finger and said, "Stay with me."
