Don Gardner carried Odelia into the bedroom, gently dropped her on the bed, and lingered in the room for a while before he turned to leave. Odelia felt strange by his actions.
She wanted to say something to ease the awkwardness, but she didn't even know what to say due to how unusual their current relationship was. She didn't even know where to start, so she silently watched him go away, leaving her alone in the room.
Don Gardner walked straight to his study to continue working from home since it was a few minutes past noon already. He wasn't usually at home by this time of the day, but due to the events of the day, he had taken an impromptu leave. Sometimes he rarely came home and mostly stayed in the company due to his overwhelming workload.
