Chapter 12 - A mission

I don't know how to feel about this, let's see a girl is sitting on my lap while ahe is eating stake, or in a much more simpler manner, 'My' Daughter Nero was enjoying her food.

At first i checked the kitchen and actually found some food and i then realized i am incapable of feeling hunger but then i found a bar of chocolate, Now we were both eating something. "So Nero do you remember anything"

"About what?" She asked curiously.

"Your past" I asked gently.

She stopped eating her stake and then placed a finger on her chin. "I remember three Shadows, One Pitch Black, One Pink and One red, They used to belong to the red one before they became their own individual selves…but after that it was nothing, i remember nothing but…i did remember the same feeling i got when i first hatched, at first he was apprehensive and was a little scared but after time went by, he was nice and also funny"

Well that was a sweet story…so i should probably not talk about that for the moment, i placed a hand on her head and gently patted it.

Now both of us sat there eating our respective meals, if chocolate was food that is…well for me it certainly is.

And so it continued that way until suddenly, The Semi-emotionless Judgment Avatr came outside the room and then stared at the bith of us. "Innocence Cannot be measured."

"What?, is that you dad?" Nero asked curiously.

I smiled. "Yes, i just made him a few days ago so he is quite young and hasn't gained a personality yet"

She kept silent and went back to her meal whilst swinging her legs. The Judgment avatar just stared at us unblinking. "So judge, what brings you out here today"

"I smelled Sugar and cocoa" it said monotonously.

I raised an eyebrow at the Judgment Avatar's monotone declaration. "You smelled sugar and cocoa?" I repeated, genuinely baffled. "Are you telling me that you—an entity created to be an impartial judge of morality—have a sweet tooth?"

The Avatar tilted its head slightly, its unblinking gaze fixed on the chocolate bar in my hand. "I do not possess a digestive system, nor do I experience physical cravings. However, the scent triggered a sense of… interest."

I glanced down at the chocolate and then back at the Avatar. "Interest, huh? I guess even judgmental constructs can be curious." I broke off a small piece of the chocolate and held it up. "Here, taste it. Maybe it'll trigger something else in that blank slate of a mind you have."

The Avatar hesitated for a moment before stepping forward. It took the piece of chocolate between its pale, gloved fingers and examined it with an intensity that made me feel like I was offering it some kind of ancient relic. Then, with deliberate precision, it placed the chocolate in its mouth.

For a few seconds, there was silence. Nero stopped swinging her legs and watched with keen interest, her violet eyes sparkling with amusement.

"Well?" I asked, unable to hide my curiosity.

The Avatar's expression didn't change, but there was a long pause before it spoke. "The combination of sugar and cocoa is… harmonious. It creates a balance that is both simple and profound. If morality were a flavor, it might resemble this."

Nero burst into laughter, nearly dropping her fork. "So even the judgment guy likes chocolate! Dad, I think you made him too well."

I couldn't help but chuckle at her reaction. "Looks like you've got good taste, Judge. Maybe I should start calling you the Chocolate Connoisseur instead."

The Avatar blinked once, its stoic demeanor unbroken. "Your humor is noted but unnecessary. I simply wished to confirm the appeal of this substance. My inquiry is now complete."

It turned and began walking back toward the guest room, leaving Nero and me in stunned silence for a moment.

Finally, Nero broke the quiet, still giggling. "I like him, Dad. He's weird, but in a funny way."

I shook my head, a small smile tugging at my lips. "Yeah, he's definitely something. Guess we'll see what kind of personality he ends up developing."

As the evening went on, Nero finished her meal and eventually curled up on the couch beside me, drifting off to sleep. I glanced down at her peaceful expression and sighed, the weight of everything starting to settle in. "Not even a week in this world and weird things already started happening, Well i might need ti leave the one punch universe at some point so i don't get in a crossfire between saitama and god or i could just use Mosquito girl to infiltrate the Monster association and become a high rank member, i would then make her manipulate Psychos into thinking she is working for her, but in reality"

I paused as i glanced towards the window. "In reality i think it would be better to use their souls as fuel to progress in training"

yes my soul manipulation on others is limited on enslavement and not alteration so training them on monsters that don't need mercy is quite suitable. But then again i may have already changed the plot of this world by enslaving mosquito girl…or she still faught Genos and got swatted like a fly and then survived cause…she is a mosquito.

I could probably imagine that happening vividly, An angry monster being pissed off by a robit and then swatted by an OP Human, well if you can call saitama Human anymore that is, i would more or less classify him as a monster than an actual human.

So the saying of "In order to beat a monster, you must become one yourself"

" …seems to fit him perfectly," I muttered, leaning back against the couch. The dim light from the room cast a soft glow over Nero's sleeping form, and the stillness gave me time to think.

If Saitama was more monster than man, what did that make me? Between the Anti-Void inheritance, Nero's strange origins, and the fact that I could manipulate souls to some extent, I was already walking a dangerous line. But the thought of using the Monster Association as a training ground for my abilities seemed too tempting to ignore.

Of course, it wasn't without risk. If Psykos caught on, or worse, if Orochi realized I was meddling, things could spiral out of control. Even Saitama's intervention wouldn't guarantee my safety if I became a target.

I sighed, rubbing my temples. "This world is already messed up enough without me adding to it."

The Judgment Avatar appeared in the doorway again, as if summoned by my turmoil. Its blank stare focused on me. "Your thoughts are turbulent. Doubt clouds your actions."

"No kidding," I replied, sarcasm lacing my tone. "I've been thrust into a situation where any wrong move could get me—or her—killed. So yeah, I've got a lot on my mind."

The Avatar nodded slowly, its unblinking gaze unnerving as always. "You possess both the capacity for destruction and the desire for preservation. Balance is key."

"Thanks for the fortune cookie advice," I said dryly. "Anything more helpful you'd like to add?"

It tilted its head, seemingly considering my words. "Do not underestimate the influence of your choices. Even the smallest ripple can alter the flow of a river. Proceed with caution."

"Great," I muttered, leaning back again. "More cryptic warnings. Just what I needed."

The Avatar remained silent, then turned and disappeared back into the shadows.

I glanced down at Nero again, brushing a stray strand of hair from her face. Despite everything, she seemed happy. Content. It was strange—she was technically an extension of someone else's story, yet she felt… real. Alive.

Maybe that's why I couldn't bring myself to push her away. She was a reminder that even in the chaos of this new existence, there was something worth protecting.
