"Finally succeeded! A superhuman! Before the arrival of Thanos, no one should be able to threaten me." Kain felt an overwhelming surge of energy coursing through his veins.
Two days without sleep felt like nothing to him now.
With his current strength and financial resources, he realized that as long as he continued on this path of development, no one could pose a threat to him, and there would be no one foolish enough to challenge him directly.
"Although there's no need for Wood Style ninjutsu, I can still practice other interesting secret techniques." Kain pondered to himself. He was aware that the limitations of traditional ninjutsu were quite significant.
Unless a ninja had been training since childhood and had extensive battle experience, there was a considerable gap in strength between a Jōnin and those of Kage level.
"And Danzo—this old fool can't let go." Kain thought bitterly. At the moment, he had no ability to retaliate against Danzo.
Additionally, other ninja villages wouldn't recklessly attack him or any of ninjas merely for the rewards of a mission.
Tasks involving enemy ninjas were typically A-level or S-level, and the reviews for these tasks were strictly enforced. Rarely would ninja villages take on these high-stakes missions voluntarily.
Otherwise, taking on many such missions could easily trigger a war in the ninja world, and Kain knew that if the timing was wrong, even his wealth wouldn't be enough to protect him. As for rogue ninjas, they posed no real threat to Danzo's roots.
"I should relax for a while. I've been running back and forth between the two worlds recently, making myself too tense. Now that the Extremis virus has almost released a new version, it's time to focus on the company in the Marvel world." Kain realized he also needed to manage affairs in this realm.
He had accumulated significant capital, but if he didn't convert that capital into actual power, it would ultimately be worthless.
Tsunade had agreed to help him research several specific drugs for incurable diseases, and two of these would soon yield results. This would be Kain's opportunity to push his biopharmaceutical company forward.
However, he was acutely aware that Konoha had become aware of the existence of the Extremis virus. This necessitated caution on his part when venturing into the Ninja World in the future.
"If I go to Konoha again, it'll be far too dangerous unless Tsunade or Orochimaru accompany me." Kain knew that without their protection, he would be at risk.
Yet, he understood that the Ninja World still held many opportunities for him to seize—Chakra metal, blood limits, and tailed beasts were just a few examples.
He now possessed some degree of self-preservation strength; it was unrealistic for anyone to subdue him in an instant. Moreover, the shuttle function of his system allowed him to appear like a ghost.
The new Extremis virus also exhibited significant resistance to illusions, making it even more challenging for Konoha's roots and Anbu to capture him quietly.
"And Cheat, the next world should be coming soon." Kain opened the system panel to check the progress. The search for the New World had become increasingly promising.
Although he had no concrete idea of when he could access it, Kain felt confident that he would be able to trade with the New World in a month or two.
He reflected on the limitations of the Chakra system in the Ninja World, particularly the high requirements for bloodlines. Ultimately, every peak of power seemed to relate back to the Ōtsutsuki.
In the Ninja World, hard work often paled in comparison to the advantages of bloodlines. With that in mind, Kain decided to remove all the Hashirama cells and human experimentation data from the Extremis Virus, leaving only the experimental process and results before he drove to the biological research center.
"Should I find drivers and assistants? What about a security company?" This idea sprang into Kain's mind as he drove. Once his company reached a certain level of development, establishing armed security forces would be essential unless he intended to expose his strength beyond human limits.
However, doing so would attract too much attention and lead to bigger problems down the line.
Kain was acutely aware of the historical developments in the Marvel World. Although timelines diverged, the urgency exhibited by top officials in the United States remained unchanged.
After experiencing substantial benefits during World War II, they gradually established themselves as the "world police." Their desire to intervene in every situation led to frequent terrorist activities against the United States, more rampant than Kain had initially imagined.
In this world, the U.S. had invested significantly in counter-terrorism efforts.
"In a few years, these terrorists will become so bold that even Tony Stark will find himself in danger." Kain concluded. This realization solidified his determination to establish a military security company.
Given his identity and background, starting an arms security company wouldn't be difficult, especially since he was wealthy.
After the Extremis virus became public knowledge, his company could potentially profit significantly; a recent survey indicated that the market for disabled individuals in the U.S. alone boasted potential profits in the billions of dollars.
Expanding to a global market could bring in tens of billions, consistently.
However, Kain understood that the emergence of Extremis would pose a devastating blow to companies that sold prosthetics. From this angle, establishing a military security company became more attractive.
He wasn't afraid of typical terrorist attacks; his physical fitness was already superior to that of Captain America without Chakra. When combined with his use of Chakra, he believed he could stand against the Hulk in the Avengers.
Still, he recognized the need to improve his combat skills.
But what about his other employees and friends? Those who worked for Kain would require bodyguards as the company expanded.
Upon arriving at the biological research center, the security guard at the gate recognized Kain and let him through without hesitation. Human experiments had already begun here, and while a considerable amount of useful data had been gathered, the breakthroughs made by Orochimaru and Tsunade were largely due to the contributions of Maya and Killian.
However, as experiments progressed, they had reached a standstill; the team couldn't guarantee the perfect integration of the Extremis virus, leading to high casualty rates among the experimental subjects.
This situation had compelled Kain to invest heavily in this area. After all, the subjects he had procured were all volunteers from reputable channels, with the cheapest subject costing around $800,000.
As time passed, these costs would only rise. In larger biopharmaceutical companies, there were few experimental volunteers bought through conventional channels due to the exorbitant fees.
"With a million dollars, I could buy at least fifty subjects among those impoverished Africans or illegal immigrants."
As Kain entered the laboratory, he immediately sensed that the atmosphere was off. Research stations were scattered, and the usual research environment had vanished.
"Gentlemen, have you quarreled again?" Kain inquired, noticing the tension in the room. When Killian spotted him, his previously gloomy expression lightened slightly.
"Boss, we still need a batch of experimental subjects," Killian stated, concern evident in his voice.
"Killian, I told you, you can't do this!" Maya interjected, her frustration boiling over. "Continuing this way is futile. We need to reevaluate our approach."
Seeing that Killian and Maya were still bickering, Kain raised his voice to cut through the chaos. "Gentlemen, can you please listen to me? Before you argue about the experimental procedures, I urge you to read the information in my hand, then we can discuss other matters."
What Kain held was the production process of the new Extremis virus serum, a novel idea that could potentially turn their current struggles into a success story.
