Chapter 95 - C 88(1)

In Tsunade's case, it was likely because she listened to others too much, letting her sensibility surpass her rationality. Unable to figure it out for a while, she rashly asked Kain about it.

From Tsunade's reaction, Kain could guess that someone in Konoha was hostile to him again. However, this time, the method was more sophisticated—sowing discord was far more effective than simply sending Anbu to kill him.

In terms of identity, the relationships between people in a village always held a natural advantage for such manipulation.

Tsunade had recently received a batch of medical supplies from Kain, provided in his personal capacity and at an unprecedentedly low price. This generosity left her feeling a bit ashamed.

When she returned, she was still somewhat embarrassed around Kain. She hurriedly handed him the finished products and formulas for three specific medicines targeting terminal illnesses, which she had prepared in advance.

Without saying much else, she retreated to her room.

At this time, Nawaki had already fallen asleep. He spent most days either completing missions or being trained to exhaustion by Orochimaru.

Since discovering the regenerative capabilities of the new Extremis virus, Orochimaru had stopped holding back. He frequently employed harsh, even cruel, methods, sometimes resorting to snake venom.

On one occasion, Nawaki paid the price for his carelessness with three minutes of convulsions caused by Orochimaru's venom. Since then, Nawaki had become exceedingly cautious.

His only real reprieve was the chance to return home and rest.

"Boss, are you finished?"

Just as Kain was about to leave, Kushina tiptoed out of the kitchen hall and whispered to him.

"Almost finished. What's up, Kushina?"

Kushina shook her head, then said, "I just realized—I never asked how your study of sealing techniques is going. Have you made progress? If so, do you want to learn some advanced techniques?"

Hearing this, Kain felt a twinge of emotion. "Is that possible? The scroll you gave me last time had very detailed records. I've almost grasped the principles of sealing techniques, and I'm ready to put them to use."

Kushina raised a finger to her lips. "Shh~. This isn't the place for that. Let's go upstairs and talk."

Tsunade's house was spacious, with three large rooms on the first floor. Nawaki and Tsunade occupied two of them, while Kushina's room was on the second floor.

Kain often thought that sealing was the only form of ninjutsu that could transcend other systems.

If chakra was present, the sealing technique could seal chakra. If chakra was absent, it could seal the body and spirit—essentially physical energy and spiritual energy.

He suspected that sealing techniques were not originally a product of the chakra system. Instead, they might have been an ability unique to the planet before Ōtsutsuki Kaguya's arrival.

If explored deeply, sealing techniques could even touch upon the quantum realm, considering their ability to seal a tailed beast larger than a mountain into a human body.

If Kain discovers a stronger energy source in other worlds in the future, he might even become a Jinchūriki—provided he masters the sealing technique.

For that, he must continue learning from Kushina.

Kushina's sealing techniques improved daily, thanks to her unique inheritance from the Uzumaki clan.

None of the other ninjas in Konoha's sealing class possessed such knowledge, and the village itself lacked access to advanced techniques.

Only Kushina knew the powerful seals, like the Eight Trigrams Seal used to contain the Nine Tails, and the Dead Demon Consuming Seal, both hallmark skills of the Uzumaki clan.

When Kain entered Kushina's room, he began asking her for guidance. He demonstrated the most basic sealing techniques in front of her, and Kushina patiently pointed out his mistakes and areas for improvement.

After nearly three hours of study, Kain noticed the sleepy look on Kushina's face. Reluctantly, he thanked her and left.

However, he knew Sarutobi Hiruzen wouldn't tolerate this for long. If Hiruzen found out Kushina was teaching him sealing techniques, he might intervene, regardless of Kushina's willingness to pass on her knowledge.

Hiruzen certainly wouldn't want Kain gaining access to such dangerous skills.

The next day, Tsunade's mood had improved significantly after receiving news about the medicines. She headed straight to the Hokage's office.

When Mitokado Homura arrived, she shared the good news and urged them to send her the funds immediately so she could purchase the supplies. Without waiting for a response, she left the Hokage building.

At first, Mitokado Homura was surprised by the news, but soon his expression turned to delight.

Being able to buy enough medicines and medical supplies at such favorable terms was excellent news for Konoha.

A few weeks earlier, Homura had visited the capital of the Land of Fire but returned empty-handed.

If Tsunade hadn't come through, they had been prepared to send people to smaller countries like the Land of Sound or the Land of Grass in desperation.

Now, thanks to Kain, they could procure enough supplies to support Konoha through a war at a price 30% lower than their initial purchase.

Even after having paid double for some of the earlier supplies, this deal meant they were still coming out ahead.

"Hiruzen, what do you think this guy is up to? Is he trying to curry favor with Konoha?" Mitokado Homura asked, feeling uneasy about the sudden generosity.

Sarutobi Hiruzen took a slow puff from his pipe and exhaled the smoke. "It doesn't seem like he's trying to win Konoha's favor. If that were the case, he'd have approached you directly instead of selling through Tsunade."

He paused before continuing, "Tsunade mentioned that he's studying several medicines after success of the Extremis virus. She brought it up a few days ago."

Mitokado Homura nodded slightly. "So, he's afraid Tsunade won't share her findings with him? That does make sense."

"Anyway, if you can buy such supplies, it saves us the trouble of running around. To be cautious, it's best to thoroughly inspect all these medical supplies," Sarutobi Hiruzen said, putting down his pipe.

He then mentioned that he had seen, through the crystal ball, Namikaze Minato mastering the Flying Thunder God Technique. Once fully mastered, Minato would become Konoha's second ninja to wield space-time ninjutsu.
