Chapter 161 - C122(1)

When a Jinchūriki of the Nine-Tails absorbs enough tailed beast chakra, they can enter a special state known as the Nine-Tails Chakra Mode.

However, achieving this mode requires immense strength, as the Jinchūriki must wrestle a significant amount of the tailed beast's chakra from the Nine-Tails and store it within their body.

The previous Nine-Tails Jinchūriki, Uzumaki Mito, was able to enter this state. In this mode, both speed and strength are significantly enhanced. Additionally, it grants the ability to sense goodwill and malice, making it easier to distinguish between friend and foe.

"Boss, I feel like I can do anything now. This power is incredible! I could beat ten of my previous selves," Kushina said to Kain with a bright smile.

She had just used her newfound sensory ability to confirm that Kain harbored no malice toward her.

'So that guy Namikaze Minato really was just talking nonsense', she thought.

"Then, Kushina, to help you adapt to this power as quickly as possible, how about you spar with me?" Kain suggested with a grin. He was eager to test how well he could handle someone with Kushina's speed and strength in Nine-Tails Chakra Mode.

"Okay, but let's make it interesting. Let's bet on the match. Whoever loses has to do one thing the winner says," Kushina said confidently. Despite the boss's magical abilities, she felt certain she had the upper hand.

"Deal! Let's get started—Stupefy!" Kain exclaimed, casting a stunning spell at Kushina mid-sentence.

However, in Nine-Tails Chakra Mode, Kushina's speed and perception had increased exponentially. Before the spell could reach her, she vanished from her spot.

The next moment, Kain instinctively tried to use a levitation spell to retreat into the air, but before he could finish casting, Kushina landed a heavy punch, sending him flying.

Boom!

If not for the protective Iron Armor Curse Kain had cast earlier, the blow would have knocked him unconscious.

Thankfully, Kushina had held back, opting to punch him rather than use her Adamantine Sealing Chains right away.

While being hurled through the air, Kain quickly activated his levitation spell, turning into a black mist that darted through the sky. From above, he launched a barrage of spells at Kushina.

"Stupefy!"

"Diffindo!"

"Petrificus Totalus!"

Kain made sure to adjust the power of his spells to avoid causing serious harm. For high-lethality spells like Diffindo(the Severing Charm), he toned down the magical energy to a safer level.

He primarily used these spells to disrupt Kushina's incredible speed rather than to deal damage.

Although Kain hadn't been in many fights, he wanted to use this sparring session to sharpen his combat instincts and refine his fighting style. Kushina, for her part, also had limited experience, but her combat ability far outmatched his due to her agility and raw power.

Boom! Boom!

Invisible spells periodically struck the ground, creating deep craters. Despite Kain's efforts, none of his attacks hit. The golden flash of Kushina's movements was too fast. Even with Sage Mode enhancing his perception, he could barely keep track of her.

But perceiving her movements didn't mean he could land a hit. Kushina also had sensory abilities, and her speed was far greater than the travel speed of Kain's spells.

She anticipated his attacks, dodging before he could fully execute them. Her ability to stay one step ahead made the fight incredibly difficult for Kain.

However, Kain's flying spell made Kushina quite uncomfortable. His movement resembled smoke, fast and unpredictable. If she jumped into the air to try and catch him, she'd lose her ability to dodge altogether.

"I'm going to use the sealing technique, boss," Kushina shouted, making sure to give a warning.

Golden chains burst from her back—eight Adamantine Sealing Chains that shot toward Kain in the air at incredible speed.

For Kain, the chains were troublesome. Each could extend tens of meters, and even in Sage Mode, he could feel the danger they posed. Getting hit by one would not end well for him.

Kushina used the chains not only for offense but also for defense and mobility. She could leap into the air with their support, closing the distance between herself and Kain. And with two chains positioned in front of her for protection, Kain's Shattering Curse was ineffective.

As the battle continued, Kushina gradually adapted to Kain's tactics. She began to understand the timing of his flying movements and the casting of his spells. With her speed, she felt confident she could exploit the brief gaps in his attacks.

"To pieces!"

Boom!

Another Shattering Curse struck her chains. Kain was gradually increasing the spell's power, and this time, the chain he hit quivered under the impact.

But Kushina's sharp eyes noticed her chance. As soon as the chain absorbed the spell's force, she used it as a springboard, launching herself toward Kain with incredible speed.

Crack!

A sharp, sickening sound rang out in the air. Kushina's elated expression froze. She realized both her ankles had snapped under the sheer force of her movement.

Pain shot through her, and she lost control of the Adamantine Sealing Chains, plummeting tens of meters toward the ground. The intense pain and panic even slowed the Extremis virus' regenerative effect.

Fortunately, Kain flew in and caught her mid-air, gently bringing her back to the ground.

"My... my ankles are broken," Kushina muttered, tugging at Kain's sleeve.

"I noticed," Kain replied calmly. "But have you forgotten the effects of the Extremis virus? Don't panic when you're injured. As long as your head's still intact, the virus will repair you."

As he spoke, Kushina felt her ankles slowly mending themselves. Within moments, the pain subsided completely.

She stood up and bounced a little to confirm. To her amazement, the fractures were fully healed in just about ten seconds.
